00:00Thomas and Fergus the Traction Engine are friends.
00:06Fergus is the pride of the cement works.
00:09He knows all the rules and obeys them.
00:14One day the Fat Controller brought Devious Diesel to the cement works.
00:21I need Diesel to help for a while.
00:27Please show him around.
00:29Yes, said Fergus unhappily. He knew that Diesel could be trouble.
00:36Later, Diesel was being careless.
00:40Not like that, snapped Fergus. Do it right.
00:44Don't interfere, sneered Diesel.
00:47You don't know the rules, retorted Fergus.
00:54Diesel was very annoyed with Fergus and started plotting a devious plan.

01:51Just then, the scrapped Diesels arrived.

01:57No, cried Fergus. His driver was scared too.

02:06And for the first time, Fergus broke the rules.
02:12The Fat Controller was enjoying a tasty supper of kippers when he heard that Fergus was missing.

02:57Fergus was on a siding. His fire had gone out.

03:13It's an engine, he cried.
03:16Fergus, whistled Thomas. Whatever are you doing out here?
03:22Hiding. Don't want to work at the smelters. The Fat Controller is going to be cross with me.
03:28He's not, cried Thomas. He's worried about you.
03:33Really? Of course, puffed Thomas.
03:37Fergus felt better.
03:40Thomas pulled Fergus all the way to the smelters yard, where he knew the Fat Controller was waiting.
03:48Fergus, explain yourself.
03:51I ran away. It's scary here.
03:54Diesel told Fergus that you wanted him at the smelters forever, said Thomas.
03:59Nonsense, Fergus. You are the pride of the cement works.
04:02I shall send Diesel to the smelters and you can go back to the cement works tomorrow.
