00:00Hurry up, I'm a busy engine, huffed Henry.
00:07Goods arrive night and day at the docks.
00:13Sometimes Henry and the other engines work so hard that their axles ache.
00:20The fat controller brought in a new engine to help with the heavy workload.
00:25He was long and had ten drive wheels. He looked very strong.
00:29This is Murdoch. He's going to be pulling freight on the main line.
00:35Ahoy, Murdoch, shouted Salty.
00:38Welcome, Murdoch, called Harvey.
00:41You're the biggest engine I've ever seen, cried Thomas.
00:45You're a chotty lot, Murdoch said quietly.
00:52Soon Murdoch was coupled to a long, long line of heavy trucks.
00:57His boiler strained, his wheels started to turn, and the mighty engine chuffed away.
01:06Murdoch longed for some peace and quiet.
01:10But everywhere he went it was noisy and crowded.
01:15At the end of the day, Murdoch was looking forward to a good night's rest.
01:23But Salty and Harvey were full of questions.
01:28What's the longest train you've ever pulled? Have you worked Marseilles?
01:34Have you ever crashed?
01:36Please, Murdoch chuffed, I want some peace and quiet and I don't want to share a shed with chatterboxes.
01:42No need to be rude, huffed Harvey.
01:45We're only being friendly, mighty.
01:50The next morning, Murdoch collected another long, heavy train.
01:57This time he chuffed into the beautiful countryside.
02:01It was splendid.
02:08At last he had some peace and quiet.
02:23Suddenly his driver applied the brakes.
02:26There were sheep on the tracks.
02:28The sheep escaped from that field, said the driver, through that broken fence.
02:33They tried to chase the sheep back.
02:36First this way, and then that way.
02:44They tried everything, but nothing worked.
02:48We'll never move these sheep by ourselves, complained the fireman.
02:52I'll go and phone for help, sighed the driver.
02:56Murdoch was very unhappy.
02:59The noisy sheep were spoiling his peace and quiet.
03:04The fat controller was enjoying afternoon tea when he got the call.
03:08Sheep! he exclaimed loudly.
03:10I'll send Toby with the farmer immediately.
03:14The sheep were becoming noisier and noisier.
03:18Please stop, groaned Murdoch.
03:21I'd rather be back with the chatterbox engines.
03:24Just then, Toby chuffed into view.
03:29Toby! exclaimed Murdoch.
03:32We're certainly glad to see you.
03:35Before long, the farmer and his dog went to work.
03:41And the sheep were soon safely back in their field.
03:47And Murdoch was on his way again.
04:01That evening, Murdoch parked between Harvey and Salty, but Murdoch spoke first.
04:07I'm sorry that I was cross, he chuffed.
04:09I'm very pleased to share a shed with you.
04:12And we're pleased to have your company, said Harvey.
04:16Aye, we are, added Salty.
04:19It reminds me of a story.
04:21Murdoch smiled.
04:23The sound of bar, bar, bar would have kept him awake,
04:25but a salty story would send him happily to sleep.
