00:00For years, critics have speculated that reality TV's real estate stars are faking it for the cameras,

00:07Now, it's fair to say that the world of TV real estate shows is far from a reality for your average broker
00:13who has to, you know, sell houses for a living.
00:16Now, according to our research and on-the-record insights from many insiders,
00:20some of the most prominent stars haven't made as much as you'd think from real estate lately.
00:26Now, it's not a problem for Jason and Brett Oppenheim,
00:29who employ dozens of agents with no interest in being on Selling Sunset,
00:33but who keep the business thriving.
00:35Oppenheim Group agent Mary Bonet is keen to emphasize that a lot of what really goes on in the office
00:41is kept private, either because clients demand it or simply because the deal in question
00:47aren't big enough for Netflix.
00:49She tells us,
00:56Now, Josh Flagg from Bravo's Million Dollar Listing is a little more cynical,
01:06hinting that his reality TV rivals lack his credentials.
01:10He tells us,
01:11The main difference is that I've been selling real estate for close to 20 years.
01:16There just happens to be a TV show documenting my life versus many of these other shows
01:21based on personas who just happen to have real estate licenses, they claim.
01:27Now, his co-star Josh Altman agrees and says that doing the show is all about promoting the business.
01:32He tells us,
01:41that would take most people a lifetime.
