Democratic Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey was found guilty on all 16 counts of corruption charges, including bribery and extortion. Prosecutors said Menendez accepted bribes from businessmen in exchange for political favors, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash found in his home. Menendez did not testify in his defense and maintained his innocence, saying he was just representing his constituents. Menendez faces sentencing in October and will likely appeal the guilty verdict. Senate Democrats have called on him to resign.
