Pagpatay sa PH eagle, iniimbestigahan na ng DENR XI   Global Youth Summit 2024 sa Davao City, dinaluhan ng mahigit sa 500 bata ng Mindanao

00:00Good morning.

00:04The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has already investigated the shooting of DNR-11.

00:10The Philippine Eagle has just been found in Compostela, Davao de Oro.

00:15Today, the person responsible for the shooting was arrested.

00:18DNR-11's regional director, Attorney Maria Mercedes Lumagan,

00:23has already allied with the Philippine Eagle Foundation.

00:26According to the National Bureau of Investigation of DNR-11 and security forces,

00:31DNR-11 was shot and killed by John and Gun,

00:34the eagle that resulted in severe blood loss.

00:38The Republic Act No. 9147,

00:42the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act,

00:46has already identified the person responsible for the shooting.

00:49According to the Penal Code,

00:51the person responsible for the shooting will be fined up to Php 100,000

00:58or up to Php 1,000,000 for considering the eagle as a critical species.

01:05It's a multi-stakeholder activity that is being done within our areas where our wildlife thrive.

01:19More than 500 youths from all over Mindanao participated in the Global Youth Summit in Davao City.

01:27The summit was led by a non-government organization

01:31in the hope of reaching the youths,

01:34to answer and promote the Sustainable Development Goals with SDGs in the United Nations

01:40that will have a positive impact in the Philippines.

01:44The Global Youth Summit 2024 was held on May 27

01:49and was held in 17 provinces in the Philippines.

01:53It was held on August 27, 2024 in Kauluhan

01:58and the next year, it was targeted to the organizers who will be attending the 12 locations.

02:04Global Youth Summit is on its 12th year now

02:07and Global Youth Summit is a celebration of youth potential.

02:11So we're bringing the inspiration to different communities in the Philippines outside of Metro Manila.

02:17We wanted to make sure that youth participation is there.

02:21We make sure that these young people will practice and exercise their creativity

02:27and their sense of being innovative in pursuing and achieving our Sustainable Development Goals.
