00:00Hi there, it's John Blow from the Yorkshire Post Features Team. Here's what's coming up in the week ahead.
00:05Much of the activity in Parliament this week will consist of debates about the new Government's plans announced in the King's Speech.
00:12Summer recess was expected to start tomorrow but that's now been changed to July 30th as sessions are held to discuss the 40 bills put forward in the State Opening last week.
00:22Among the legislation proposed are plans to streamline the process for approving the building of critical infrastructure, the founding of a new state-owned energy investment and generation company,
00:33a bill to renationalise nearly all passenger rail services, and the transferral of more powers to elected mayors across the country.
00:41Elsewhere, the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics takes place in Paris on Friday, followed by 16 days of the competition until Sunday, August 11th.
00:49The likes of swimmer Tom Dean, runner Keeley Hodgkinson, diver Tom Daly, cyclist Beth Schriever and weightlifter Emily Campbell will be hoping to return to the podium for the Team GP squad.
01:03And Sheffield's Tramlines Festival returns this weekend with a line-up of big names playing live at Hillsborough Park.
01:09Paolo Nuttini, Jamie Tee and Snow Patrol are the headline acts from Friday to Sunday respectively, while ticket holders can also expect to see Sheffield legends the Human League, Leeds bands Yard Act and English Teacher,
01:21indie crowd-pleasers Bombay Bicycle Club and pop star Sophie Ellis-Bexter among many more over the weekend.
