00:00COBRA officials met this morning. I've been kept updated about the situation
00:05throughout the day. The Prime Minister has been kept informed. We'll have a
00:10further meeting later today to make sure we are across the situation but as far
00:15as government services goes and the online services that government provides
00:19these are largely unaffected now and it's important that's the case because a
00:24lot of vulnerable people depend on these services so we always want to make sure
00:29that that's the case. What this incident shows is just how dependent we are on IT
00:34systems and when something like this happens how fast and how widespread the
00:39effects are. The reassuring thing in this case is that it's not a hostile act, it's
00:45not a security attack, the cause has been identified and it's really important
00:50because we're so reliant on these systems that the fix is put in place as
00:55soon as possible.
