02:12This is my first night staying at the residence my grandmother lived in before they took her away.
02:19I can't think why I've come.
02:22All I know is that I need to process the horrors which I can still hardly believe took place here.
02:27place here. To say that I was surprised that she had left this place to me, let
02:33alone include me in her will at all, is an understatement. Our last words
02:39exchanged all those years ago were not kind ones. It is said that you should
02:44never speak ill of the dead, but how could I speak kindly of a being who did
02:50such unspeakable things to those young women? There is a small part of me who
02:56thinks it may well have been my name in those obituaries had I not left when I
03:01did. The cottage itself is clean and in better standing than I expected. After
03:09the news of the atrocities that were committed here broke, I thought there may
03:13be some minor damage. Broken windows, a battered door, perhaps even an attempt to
03:19arson, but the place is perfectly fine. Except that I do not feel quite alone
03:34in this place. I can't describe it exactly, but a foreboding feeling seems
03:40to almost seep from the wallpaper here. I suppose it ought to be almost a given
03:45knowing what took place here.
04:45Christ! What are you doing here?
05:14What am I doing here? What are you doing here? This is my house.
05:19Are you come to stay? Stay? Don't leave me here. Please. You know, you look familiar to me.
05:37Have we met before?
06:07It's crazy. It's just the stress.
06:37What do you want? You can't leave me here. Who are you? Flora. Flora? But that's, but
07:03that's the name of one of the women. No, but you, you just can't be. She's dead.
07:14How could you be dead when you stood before me? When I can touch you freezing
07:22and yet beautiful. Not some rotted corpse. I wish I were a rotted corpse.
07:32Disintegrated from this earth, but instead I'm trapped here through no will
07:38of my own. Like some hapless creature in a zoo with no one to talk to and only my
07:43thoughts for company. You can't be real. You just can't be real. You can't leave me here.
09:32You can't be real. You can't leave me here. You can't leave me here. You can't leave me here.
10:01You can't leave me here.
10:31You can't leave me here.
11:01You can't leave me here.
11:31You can't leave me here.
12:01You can't leave me here.
12:31I can't rest with your incessant watching.
12:43What she did to you was nothing to do with me.
12:58I'm not angry. It's just every time I see a woman's face in the papers I think
13:14there for the grace of God go I.
13:28The way you move around this place is disturbing.
13:57You know if you and I were to stand side-by-side I don't think an observer
14:03would be able to tell he was dead. So you're not just some ghastly trick of
14:10the mind? No. How can you be dead and yet sat before me? Dead creatures don't wander
14:19around. They lie still and they rot. How can I rest when there is no one to put
14:25me so? I remember reading in the papers that they never found your body. Yours
14:34was the only one they never found here. Not since the day I arrived thinking
14:40that I'd found a good place to stay. And yet for all the years since I have been
14:47confined with only my memories of what happened. Can you imagine what I've had
14:54to endure? Yes I can. I don't like to think of it. I haven't seen another soul
15:04in all the years I've been here. And now someone I actually care about. I thought
15:17having you here would make my dreary sentence a happier one. Stay with me. So I'm to be
15:27sentenced too? How can you ask me to stay in a place which carries so much misery
15:34within it? Where I'm to be reminded every day of what she did to you? And how can
15:41you leave me in a place that has so much misery in it? That may as well be a
15:45capacious coffin. You can feel yourself how this place almost threatens to seep
15:51blood from the very floorboards it was spilt upon. And yet you would leave me
15:55here still. It's not up to me to atone for her crimes. I know nothing of you but I've
16:00faced in the paper. Can barely believe my eyes that you even exist. And yet you
16:05keep asking me to stay here with you.
16:15I ought to leave here but the strangest thing has occurred. I fear for both my
16:30own sanity and the future of this house. Is it possible that there is life after
16:37death? The thought is too terrible and illogical to even consider and yet I
16:43have been confronted with it all the same. This is going to sound like I've
16:47lost my wits but this place was not as vacant as I thought. It is in fact
16:54inhabited by someone who was declared missing and deceased at the hands of my
16:59grandmother. At first I was fearful of her presence and then the queerest thing
17:05happened. I was completely overcome with longing. Longing for this woman who stood
17:13before me. Cold as February. Strangely alluring and familiar to me. She asks if
17:21I might stay with her here. But what do I know of her motives? I have not a single
17:27soul outside of this house who cares for me. But it would seem I have one inside
17:33of it. I will go to bed tonight with two questions. Are unrestful souls truly
17:40bound for eternal earthly incarceration? And if so, is it possible that I may fall
17:49in love with one of them?
17:55I can feel you here.
18:00Were you close with her?
18:06No. I mean she practically raised me but she never liked me very much. Disdain goes
18:18somewhat over your head as a child. But the older I got it became apparent that
18:27there was something pernicious and untoward. What is it? I was only exposed
18:41to her temple once but once was enough to make me leave. The last thing I knew
18:52of her she was taking in lodgers. Young female lodgers. But I never dreamed.
19:03Dreamed? Dreamed of what?
19:09Life is neither fair nor kind to women and if they choose to imitate their cruel
19:20fortune through character then I tend to forgive them. But what she did I never
19:31imagined that she was capable of such departure from morality. How could you
19:43have known? How could I have known? You never truly know a person. Not really.
19:51Whether you know them for five minutes or five years doesn't make any difference.
19:58Do you think you know me? Well I think that you're just as trapped and alone as
20:07I am. Seeing you wander around this place with your life hollowed out of you.
20:17Perhaps you do know me. Stay with me, please.
20:26Flora, I don't think I have anything left to give a person. Living or dead.
20:37You mean you don't want to give me anything?
20:42It's just the opposite.

22:36I can't leave you here. I can't even think of leaving you. My heart won't allow it.
23:01Not even if I wanted to walk out of this door could I do it.
23:09It's as though I'm chained to these walls. Not the walls.
23:16You. You and I. We're one and the same now.
23:21What have you done to me?
23:23Welcome. To the other side.
