00:18An emotional Mark Cavendish in tears at the finish of his final road stage of the Tour.

00:26The stages of the Tour, I've raced 200 maybe. I've won 35 of them but probably half of them

00:34have been in a group out the back just trying to get through so I can compete the next day.

00:41He says thank you to Case Bowl, to Ballerini.

00:45His team have done an incredible job to get him through the mountains.

00:51Winning is winning, you try that, that's what you do. If you're good at something you win,

00:54but it's the determination not to give up when things are hard on your head and on your body.

01:01They're the important things, those are the things that make you better as a person you know

01:04and that's what the Tour de France has taught me more than anything.

01:07Mark Cavendish's realisation that his career in the Tour de France has come to an end.

01:31featuring the climbs of La Turbie and the Col d'Aize before a long downhill sweep to the finish line.

01:42After a gruelling race, who would still have the legs to go for glory today?

01:45Well Lenny Martinez set the early benchmark covering the course in 48 minutes and 24 seconds.

01:51Impressive stuff from the 21-year-old Frenchman,

01:54the next 50 riders out would fail to better his time.

02:02Martinez was finally dislodged over an hour later by Harold Tejada,

02:06the Colombian climber storming around the course in 48 minutes and 14 seconds.

02:129.9 seconds faster, that's an impressive time trial particularly over the last bit

02:19and Martinez now has to say goodbye.

02:23Others clearly weren't going all in, Wout van Aert for example was almost five minutes down

02:28at the top of the Col d'Aize. We would have to wait for the favourites to shake things up.

02:35The rivalry between you and Jonas Vingegaard has already become legendary in the Tour.

02:40Attack of Hane Begaccia, here he goes now, this is the moment, Vingegaard reacts straight away.

02:48I appreciate that rivalry because I respect him a lot.

02:53I'm better than I have expected myself.

02:56Begaccia starts the assault to try and take the yellow jersey for good.

03:00I wanted to hit hard today.

03:04I will just give the maximum in terms of GC.

03:06Remco Ovenepoel wins his first ever stage of the Tour de France.

03:10I will of course do my best to try to follow today.

03:14Unfortunately Jonas decided to not ride with us.

03:16He's saying absolutely no way I'm working with you two.

03:19I wouldn't say lack of balls, I would just say riding smart.

03:27Vingegaard wants to have the mental blow of beating Begaccia to the line.

03:31Now we can all say that it's a fair fight, that he's in top shape.

03:36Hane Begaccia, he has dealt a hammer blow to the hopes of Vingegaard.

03:42When it was steep, I was catching back sometimes.

03:44So I think he gained the most of the time when it was more flat because he has his total power.

03:50So in some kind of way it also gives confidence for tomorrow that that's a different climb.

03:57I don't see why today would be more suited for him compared to yesterday.

04:01Tadej Begaccia, 14th stage win in his career.

04:05I don't know even myself anymore why I tried today.

04:09I took two seconds ahead of Jonas today and I'm happy with that.

04:14I still think there's a chance, yes.

04:16Of course I have to fight all the way, but I will also fight everything I can and I never give up.

04:23Every opportunity that somebody of the GC wants to take, that he can take, he should take.

06:42This year, Tour de France was just amazing.

06:45I was enjoying from day one until today.

07:03Begaccia rounding things out in style with another crushing victory,

07:07his sixth of a race that he has utterly dominated.

07:12The Slovenian becomes the first rider to complete the Tour Giro double since 98.

07:22Biniam Gemay made history at this tour,

07:24becoming the first rider from Eritrea to win a stage, three in total,

07:28and to conquer the green jersey.

07:30Similarly, Richard Carapaz is the first man from Ecuador to win the mountains classification.

07:35He was also named the race's most aggressive rider.

07:40Evenepoel finishes his first tour as the best young rider

07:43with a stage victory and a place on the overall podium.

07:47No surprise to see UAE finishes the best team

07:49with three riders inside the top six overall.

07:56I'm finished. I cannot say no more.

08:05After two years of hurt, Begaccia is back on top.
