Biden pulls out of presidential race, clears way for VP Harris

President Joe Biden has announced he will end his re-election bid, stating, "It is in the best interest of my party and the country."

This follows weeks of pressure from Democrats over concerns about his mental acuity and ability to beat Donald Trump.

By stepping aside, Biden clears the way for VP Kamala Harris to run at the top of the ticket, making her the first Black woman to do so in U.S. history.
