00:19in locations with exceptionally high flood waters it will put the plug back into restore
00:25power in these places once the waters recede.
00:28Moralco office sits according to Moralco as of noontime today.
00:32Close to 125,000 subscribers in its franchise area suffered power outages as a result of
00:39sustained torrential rains.
00:41The areas which suffered interim shutdowns in power service included Metro Manila, Cavite
00:49and Bulacan with 6,500 subscribers.
00:52Meanwhile, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines or NGCP said transmission
00:57lines and facilities are under normal operations as of 2 this afternoon.
01:05France has always been a nation that welcomes migrants, even illegal ones.
01:10But in preparation for the Paris Olympics, migrants, sex workers and others who hang
01:16out all day in the capital have been rounded up for relocation.
01:20And rights groups are up in arms over this move as the roundup intensifies.
01:25VOA's Lisa Bryan filed this report from the French capital.
01:30An early morning evacuation of a migrant camp on the edge of Paris.
01:35Its residents are uncertain about what's next.
01:40They told us to come here and they would find housing for us.
01:43With the Olympic Games, we can't stay here.
01:46They're going to resettle us somewhere.
01:48These kinds of evictions are not new.
01:51Rights groups have criticized them before.
01:54But activists question the size and the timing of this latest campaign, coming right before
02:00the Paris Olympics.
02:01How we describe all this, because it's not only this week, it has started long before.
02:05It's called, we call it the social cleansing of Paris.
02:09So it's basically because of the Olympics, the will to empty the streets of all misery
02:14and poverty.
02:15Borsati's charity is part of an activist network called the Other Side of the Medal.
02:20It claims hundreds of people have been relocated in the months before the Games.
02:26Not just migrants, they say, but also Roma, sex workers and others are under pressure.
02:32Some migrants have reportedly been sent to locations far from the capital, losing precarious
02:37jobs and access to social services.
02:41French authorities say migrants can choose where they want to go.
02:46We've been doing these operations every week for years.
02:49They offer shelter in the Ile-de-France region to people living in difficult and unsanitary
02:55conditions.
02:56We've also regularly sent people to other French regions because emergency shelters
03:01in Paris are saturated.
03:03So we propose to people who have just arrived without any attachments to Paris to try their
03:07luck elsewhere.
03:10The evacuations come amid rising anti-immigration sentiments in France, boosting the popularity
03:16of the far-right National Rally Party.
03:20Paris' leftist city hall blames national authorities for not providing migrants with enough solutions.
03:27It's been months that we've asked the government to take control of this situation, which is
03:31under their exclusive competency.
03:34We continue to offer migrants places for shelter and support, but the state needs to take its
03:39responsibilities.
03:41For now, these migrants will be offered a place to stay around Paris.
03:46But they could well be back on the streets when the games are over.
