00:00Picking fruit by hand is delicate work, but these farm labourers are not working on a regular harvest,
00:08because these small berries have an Olympic future, destined for the restaurants of the Paris 2024 Athletes' Village.
00:16We at Fruits Rouge are very proud to be a partner of the Olympics,
00:22to be able to supply the athletes and bring them fine, local, French produce.
00:26I've adapted for the fruit they want. I change my harvest with more or less mature berries,
00:31the size of the fruit, to adapt to what's been asked of me to provide for the games.
00:36The raspberries are grown a short drive north of the French capital,
00:40part of an ambition for the games to reduce food miles and eat French produce from small farms like this.
00:47Environmental concerns are a key part of the food strategy of Paris 2024,
00:53and the raspberries here are organic, pesticide-free.
00:57This is where the fruit will end up, in what will be this summer the world's biggest restaurant complex,
01:03feeding and fueling 15,000 Olympic athletes.
01:07There will be two dining halls dedicated to French gastronomy,
01:10among other offerings for competitors with a different taste.
01:14Of course we have our culinary heritage,
01:19but there will be 206 delegations coming who we will welcome to our table.
01:24It's important for us that each athlete performs to the highest level,
01:28and to do that we must respect their dietary needs.
01:32One of the major partners for the games is the Carrefour supermarket group,
01:36one of the world's biggest retailers.
01:38The group has been working hard to align its green targets,
01:42its role in the games and place on the world stage.
01:47It is certainly possible to have the ambition to be both a partner of a global event
01:52and to be engaged with the green transition and the food transition.
01:56So with everything we have in place and that we will put in place,
02:00we can inspire others to be part of the beautiful heritage that we will leave after the 8th September
02:06and the closing ceremony for the Paris 2024 Games.
02:10Over the coming weeks, hundreds of thousands of athletes, dignitaries and fans
02:15will feast on the world's most famous cuisine,
02:18from the grand dishes of Michelin-starred restaurants
02:21down to little red fruits from family farms like this.
