00:00The internet has been sharing some uncomfortable allegations about Ava
00:04Chris Tyson, a longtime member of Mr. Beast's crew. While the story is still
00:09developing, here's our current breakdown. On June 13th, Prism 42 posted a lengthy
00:15YouTube video sharing alleged screenshots of conversations that Tyson
00:19had with an underage fan. The fan, who goes by the screen name Lava Giyas, was
00:25in a Discord server with Tyson and also spoke with her publicly on social media.
00:30Some screenshots also indicate that the two of them may have communicated
00:35privately via Snapchat. The messages spanned many years, apparently beginning
00:40when Lava Giyas was just 13 years old and Tyson was 20. Though the messages
00:46themselves aren't exactly explicit, people are still raising their eyebrows
00:50at the kinds of jokes Tyson was making with an underage fan. Prism 42's video
00:55came out in June, but the internet has been slow to respond. That's at least in
01:00part due to similar disturbing allegations about Dr. Disrespect taking
01:05up a majority of people's attention. However, more videos have come out in
01:09recent days that take a closer look at the situation, which has in turn drawn
01:14more attention to the story. This has everyone waiting for Mr. Beast or Tyson
01:20herself to come forward and explain the situation. The alleged victim has come
01:24forward to say that everyone is misunderstanding the story. On July 22nd,
01:29just as the Ava Chris Tyson allegations were really starting to garner attention
01:33online, Lava Giyas, who is now 20, pushed back against the narrative on X.
01:39According to Lava, quote,
01:42"...Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes."
01:46Tyson issued a statement on the afternoon of July 23rd, which said they
01:50were stepping away from the Mr. Beast channel. They wrote,
01:54"...I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or
01:58offended anyone. It was not my intent. Seeing recent events, we've mutually
02:04decided it's best I permanently step away from all things Mr. Beast and
02:08social media to focus on my family and mental health."
02:13Lava Giyas asked people to flood the comments on the anti-Tyson videos to deny
02:18the allegations. He said, quote,
02:21This situation takes away from children who are actively being exploited every
02:25day online. In a separate post, Lava wrote,
02:28"...Chris' messages to me were sent in public Discord servers, groups, but
02:33everyone is framing it as if it was one-on-one. Chris literally did nothing
02:37wrong."
02:38Some people pushed back against Lava's side of the story, however. In their
02:41replies, more than a few ex-users have insisted that he is a victim of grooming,
02:47and so he doesn't have a clear perspective on the situation because of it.
02:51On the other hand, even some of the people who do accept Lava's account still
02:55have questions about why Tyson spent so much time talking to an underage fan
03:00years ago, particularly if the conversation's frequently involved in
03:04appropriate humor.
03:06Other streamers and content creators are discussing the situation online. Former
03:10Mr. Beast collaborator Jake Franklin came forward and seemed to claim that Mr.
03:15Beast had been aware of these allegations, simply saying,
03:19"...Jimmy knew."
03:20Not long after Franklin posted, Keemstar made a post claiming that Mr. Beast
03:24had helped him get into contact with Lava directly, allowing the alleged victim to
03:28tell their side of the story. According to Keemstar, LavaGS told him basically
03:34the same story he posted on his own feed. Lava reiterated that he ran a Discord
03:38channel with Tyson where inappropriate jokes were shared, but he said that he
03:43didn't think Tyson had done anything illegal, and he doesn't view himself as a
03:47victim of grooming. During a livestream, XQC seemed particularly bothered that
03:52Tyson and Lava had communicated via Snapchat, saying,
03:56"...because it's private, no logs, it's something people use very personally and
04:01use very often, intimately."
04:03Moistcritical also commented on the situation on his channel, saying,
04:07"...from the messages I saw, that s*** is completely unacceptable to be saying to a
04:11child under any circumstances."
