00:00A lot of farm work done at the moment, with these new additions to the family.
00:05Meat, mushroom, ghost, bug and Cosmos.
00:11This is Cosmos, who keeps falling asleep under a little flower hat,
00:15so we named her after the beautiful pink flower.

01:19At the end of spring everything is shifting and growing and there is so much change in
01:40the air.
01:47The creeks fill blue with new life that the rain brings.
01:52And the ducks in their soft innocence learn to play and duck dive in the clear waters.
01:57We learn so much from this and take the time to enjoy these slow special moments of life
02:02in the countryside.
02:13Finding the balance in our routines between stillness, play and work is so important for
02:17us.
02:18It's these little things that really matter, like dancing in the sunset and stopping to
02:22appreciate the joy that nature brings.
02:36The big she-oak sits with its roots in the water.
02:39It is so tall and strong and looks so happy for the fresh, mineral-rich water flowing
02:43down from the mountains.

08:21This is our puppy Clover. He is a Marama which is a guardian breed. This means that he is
08:27slowly learning to care for all of the animals. And he is already so sweet and caring for
08:32the baby duckling.
08:51He is still a puppy but he is learning so much already. We hope for him to protect
09:02all of the animals from predators like snakes, crows, goannas, wild dogs or foxes.
09:21Moth is getting so pregnant. Each day she is getting rounder and we think she is due
09:28in a couple of weeks. Clover the guardian dog will learn to protect her kid and make
09:33sure that they are safe from any predators.
09:36But first he is learning to swim. Our childhood dog Lockie passed away over a year ago now
09:45and we miss his presence so much. So many things still remind us of our beautiful memories
09:51of him but it feels like this chapter of our life has passed with Lockie. With Clover comes
09:57a new chapter, different and unfamiliar but so full of joy.

12:25on. Come on. Come on! Today has been so much fun, swimming and playing with all of the
12:38animals, but tomorrow we have a lot of work to do. In our time in nature, we have learned
12:48the art of balance. To balance work and play, to balance our own needs with others and to
12:55balance caring for the animals, the land, and ourselves. Nature teaches us this in
13:01the most beautiful and obvious ways. We learn the importance of balance by
13:07watching the balance in the weather. How, after a dry winter, the monsoonal rain
13:11comes, and most days are filled with storms and showers.
13:16This rain fills the creeks, let the grass grow, and the waterfalls flow, and a
13:25gloomy afternoon storm brings the most incredible sunset, filled with rainbows
13:29and mist and the deepest pinks.
14:46In the morning, the whip birds call out and a spangled yongo sing. The common
15:15cold coos and marks the beginning of the wet season.
15:28Storms fix nitrogen in the soil, and the next day it is so clear, the grass has
15:32turned so green, and the plants seem happy. We give the ducks a special bath
15:40each day. They're growing up so fast.
16:10Hi, it's Anastasia and Mushroom the Duck here, and today we are planting in the
16:15garden and finishing the big duck pen. We just need to add electricity to it so
16:19that the big ducks are safe in the nighttime from predators and stuff, and
16:23there's a few little holes that I need to fill, and these little guys are
16:26helping me. But I keep getting distracted by this little cutie. You are so adorable.
16:40Hey! What are you up to, little duck?
17:02It's starting to rain, so I'm taking the little duckies home. You don't like rain,
17:06do you?
17:11We're going to bring the boys down to the garden to introduce them to their
17:16new pen and duck yard.
17:29They are so excited about their new home.
17:41Jalira is planting a fig tree. The land gives us so much energy, meaning, and
17:51purpose. To balance this, we try to give back as much as we can by clearing weeds,
17:55regenerating the bush, and by planting trees.
18:10Where are you going? Stop stepping in the gravel!
18:41The simple act of planting a tree feels so immense. It feels incredible knowing
18:46that this small action will bring so much change and growth.
18:57Thanks to the support of our patrons, we are able to plant trees most weeks.
19:11The black sapote tree is so full of fruit. The abundant fruit is always a
19:35reminder of how much change you can make with a single action. Our father
19:40planted this tree from one seed decades ago. Now, even though he has passed, we
19:45spend our spring climbing, picking fruit, and laughing in the shade of the tree
19:48that he planted. We are now nourished and comforted by the tree that grew from a
19:54single seed so many years ago. In summer, the Australian flying fox, which is a
20:01fruit bat, comes at night, screeching and collecting all of the fruit. The
20:05flying foxes have begun to take the fruit, so we're picking lots. The ones
20:09that are already overripe are a special treat for the sheeps and goats.
20:35We have a lot of work to do before the end of the day, but we have learned to
20:50balance our days with so many breaks for cuddles and pats.
21:00On each duck pen, we attach an electric fence, which sends out little zaps so
21:04that if any predator tries to touch the pen, they get a little zap to warn them
21:07away. We're adding an electric wire that runs all the way to the new pen, so that
21:12they will be safe from predators. It's a big job because the pen is so far away,
21:16but we're excited to move the ducks into their new pen.
21:29We have these sticks to stop the goats from jumping the fence. Now that there's
21:34a top wire, we think that we can remove them and no naughty bouncy goat will be
21:38able to jump over to the orchard that we planted here.
22:04We're taking down the old electric wire and moving it to the fence line, where it
22:25will come up to the hill to all the pens. We're reusing all the materials from the
22:30old fence.
22:33Yay! All done. The ducks are going to be so happy sleeping in their palace tonight.
23:03Thanks so much for watching along, and please subscribe.
