00:15Audrey, the latest information from the Philippine Coast Guard confirmed that a missing crew member was killed
00:24after a ship sank in Limay, Bataan.
00:28The Philippine Coast Guard, along with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, or DNR,
00:34has deployed a survey vessel for monitoring the area.
00:43A crew member of a motor tanker, Terra Nova, was found missing after it sank in Limay, Bataan.
00:53According to the Philippine Coast Guard, Audrey was found dead at 3 p.m. on the second mate's body in Limay, Bataan.
01:0016 crew members were rescued, including 17 crew members.
01:04They were immediately taken to the first floor.
01:06Last night at 11 p.m., BRP Melchorra Aquino responded to a distress call from a motor tanker, Terra Nova.
01:14According to the PCG, last night at 10 p.m., the crew members felt a strong urge
01:21to make a decision to return to the island.
01:23They were told to enter the island until they reached the 3.6 nautical miles of Lamau Point in Iloilo, Sanaa,
01:32the port destination of the ship.
01:34The PCG continues to investigate the incident.
01:37As of now, the ship's working fuel has run out.
01:41In the aerial survey, it was found that the oil spill had reached 2 nautical miles.
01:48The PCG immediately deployed its Marine Environmental Team to recover the oil spill.
01:55Although there is no indication yet that 1.4 million liters of oil spilled,
02:01the Philippine Coast Guard said that they can ask for help from the private sector if this happens.
02:07The PCG hopes that the oil spill of the MT Terra Nova will be less than that of the MT Princess Empress
02:14that hit the eastern coast of Mindoro.
02:17But even if that happens, the PCG is already preparing for the worst-case scenario.
02:22Due to the large amount of industrial oil, the oil spill could reach Metro Manila.
02:29This was the first order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. yesterday to immediately stop the ship's sinking.
02:35The owner of the ship, Shogun Ships Co., Inc., is now dead.
02:41The Philippine Coast Guard said that they will do their best to recover all the 1.4 million liters of oil from the ship
02:50within seven days so that it will not have a large-scale oil spill.
02:56The DINR will now place a monitoring instrument to locate where the oil spill occurred.
