00:06The three-day meeting was attended by Southeast Asian foreign ministers to strengthen the
00:11region's external cooperation.
00:13During the opening stage of the summit, the Association's member nations discussed the
00:18stocktaking of community-building efforts and the organization's external relations.
00:24The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to support the chairmanship of ASEAN by the
00:29Lao People's Democratic Republic under the theme Asian Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.
00:39On the sidelines of this event, the foreign ministers of Russia and China met to enhance
00:45bilateral relations.
00:46During the meeting, Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi discussed
00:51the issues of cooperation in the areas of partnership.
00:55For his part, Wang Yi affirmed that China is ready to work with Russia to maintain the
01:00architecture of regional cooperation, centered on partnership, open and inclusive against
01:06imperialism disturbances and obstacles.
01:15The huge potential of Russia and China, as well as the participation of Moscow and Beijing
01:20in BRICS and the SCO, which Minister Wang Yi just mentioned, can have a positive impact
01:26on both our cooperation with ASEAN and on cooperation processes with individual ASEAN
01:31members in the interests of resolving global and regional problems on the solid basis of
01:36the principles of the United Nations Charter in their entirety and interconnection.
