00:00Hello there. Some of you will be planning an afternoon barbecue or heading to the seaside
00:05as there's plenty of sunshine across the UK. Lots of dry weather to have and that is thanks
00:11to an area of high pressure right across the UK at the moment giving light winds, plenty
00:15of sunshine. Weather fronts closer to the far north-west of the UK will give some thicker
00:19cloud at times, perhaps some patchy rain into Monday. But generally high pressure holding
00:24on and then something hotter moving up from the south as we head towards the middle of
00:29the week, the potential for some heavy showers and thunderstorms to develop across central
00:35southern parts of the UK, something to watch over the coming days. But for the here and
00:41now plenty of sunshine we can see on the satellite image across England and Wales, just a little
00:46bit more fair weather cloud across Northern Ireland and Scotland and dry across most areas.
00:52For the rest of the afternoon a bit of cumulus cloud bubbling up across England and Wales
00:57but plenty of long sunny spells to come perhaps across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland,
01:02a little thicker cloud, sunshine a little bit more limited across Cape Neff and Sutherland
01:07and the Northern Isles for a time. But overall most places dry and UV levels rising as well.
01:14So temperatures we're looking at 25 to 26 Celsius in the best of the sunshine. Around
01:19the coast a little bit cooler, 21 to 23 and across far north of Scotland here 16 to 18
01:26Celsius. But as I mentioned UV levels, we're looking at high levels across much of the
01:30UK reaching around 7. So if you are outside for the rest of the day around the coasts
01:36and land areas to make sure you put on your sun cream and stay protected. Through the
01:41evening time we'll see fine into the day for many. So if you are enjoying the late evening
01:47it will stay quite warm. Thicker cloud overnight moves in across parts of Northern Ireland
01:51and Scotland. Perhaps just one or two splashes of light rain possible within this cloud.
01:57But again overnight most places dry and clear. Few shallow mist and fog patches possible
02:02just like last night across parts of England and Wales. Temperatures generally holding
02:06up in double figures to start Monday morning. Perhaps a little fresher in the countryside
02:12but England and Wales plenty of blue skies to start the day. Just a little bit more hazy
02:17sunshine across Northern Ireland and Scotland. The weak weather front just starts to move
02:20in across the Western Isles to give some outbreaks of rain later on moving towards the Highlands
02:25as well. Perhaps an afternoon shower just starting to develop across parts of North
02:30Wales across into Northern England. But few and far between. Plenty of sunshine for most
02:36and temperatures rising further with light winds we could see locally the high 20s. Close
02:42to 30 Celsius across South East England. Again UV levels high across most areas. Temperatures
02:48across Northern Ireland and Scotland reaching the low 20s in the sunnier spells. So we head
02:54through the evening time on Monday. This weak weather front gives some patchy rain across
02:58parts of Northern and Western Scotland. Northern Ireland too to end the day. Elsewhere plenty
03:04of dry weather to end Monday. The outlook is for its turn a bit more unsettled as we
03:10head towards the middle of the week. Potential for some heavy showers and thunderstorms.
03:15The forecast is a little uncertain at this stage with the details. So do stay tuned.
