00:00Harold the Helicopter loves flying. Up in the bright blue sky, over the island of Sodor, he looks out for anyone in distress.
00:15Sometimes he delivers the mail. This makes Percy very cross.
00:21The mail run is done. Is there any more I can deliver it for you in a jiff?
00:26That's what friends are for.
00:28Delivering the mail is an engine's job, said Percy grumpily.
00:37Percy has many jobs, but carrying the mail is his favourite.
00:42It makes him feel really useful.
00:49The next morning, Percy was happily pulling the mail train.
00:53Must be on time, must be on time, he chuffed.
00:58But up ahead, there was trouble with the signal box.
01:01It was broken. The signal engineers did not know how long it would take to fix.
01:06Percy had to stop. It's not safe for engines to run without signals, but Percy was very upset.
01:13I'm going to be late, he cried, and it's not even my fault.
01:19The Fat Controller was in his office enjoying his toast and marmalade when he heard the news.
01:24Percy is stuck at a broken signal. Then Harold must take the mail.
01:30Poor Percy was still waiting and still upset.
01:33The last time he was held up, the mail was given to Harold.
01:37It made me feel like a really useless engine, he sighed.
01:41Well, the mail must arrive on time, said his driver.
01:44Just then, they heard a familiar sound coming from above.
01:50Hello, said Harold.
01:52The Fat Controller says you need my help. That's what friends are for.
01:57Oh, no, cried Percy.
02:00But the Fat Controller had made up his mind.
02:03There was nothing Percy could do.
02:07Percy's driver helped load the mail bags into Harold's cargo net.
02:11Maybe we should take the mail bags a few at a time, said his pilot. They're very heavy.
02:16I'd have to make too many trips. Then I'd be as slow as Percy.
02:20And so they loaded all the mail into Harold's net at once.
02:25And the engineer continued to work on the signal.
02:37Just as they finished loading, a signal engineer cried out,
02:43It's fixed, he said.
02:46Wait, Harold, shouted Percy. I'm ready to go.
02:50But it was too late. Harold had already taken off.
02:57Percy watched the mail disappear.
03:00He was upset.
03:04But then, they all heard a strange sound.
03:13Watch out for those trees, Harold, cried his pilot.
03:18My net is too heavy, wailed Harold.
03:21Harold is in trouble, Percy cried. We must try to help him.
03:43Are you all right, called Percy.
03:46Just get someone to pull me out of this haystack, sputtered Harold.
03:51And Percy did, as fast as he could.
03:58The next day, Harold's engine was fixed and he was flying again.
04:03Percy was very pleased to see him.
04:06Fancy taking the mail, Harold, Percy teased.
04:09I'll stand by with the rescue team.
04:12All the engines tooted and Harold hovered so low that only Percy could hear.
04:18Thanks for getting help to pull me out of that haystack, dear chap, he said.
04:23That's all right, said Percy. That's what friends are for.
