00:00Another low-pressure area in the Philippine Area of Responsibility is being monitored.
00:05What are the areas that will be affected?
00:08Let's find out from the weather specialist, Benison Estareja.
00:12Good morning and welcome to Balitang Hali.
00:14Good morning, Tony, and to our viewers.
00:18Sir, where is the exact location that the LPA is being monitored?
00:22As of now, our low-pressure area that is being monitored is continuously rising to the Philippine Sea
00:28and this area is almost 300 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
00:33So, it is directed to the areas of Taiwan
00:36and the chance of a severe storm occurring within 24 hours is still low.
00:41And since it is a bit far from our land, especially here in the central and southern zone,
00:46there is no direct effect.
00:48But we still have rain because of the flood.
00:51Okay.
00:52But sir, I will just clarify that because you said that you don't feel the LPA as of now.
00:57But our report just a while ago that the students were sent back to Laguna,
01:03it is being said that there is an effect of the LPA.
01:06So, what is it really?
01:08Yes, yesterday, actually, the trough or the outer portion of the LPA,
01:12that is the one that is affected here in Quezon, in Laguna, in Bicol Region.
01:16And then, when the sun sets early, the cloudiness in the eastern part of Luzon disappeared.
01:22So, these are the areas that we are experiencing rain, like here in Metro Manila for today,
01:26like Cavite, Batangas, nearby areas in Laguna have shifted to Havagan.
01:31Okay. But what is the possibility that there will be another storm before the end of July?
01:41So far, we have cloud clusters that we are monitoring.
01:43Aside from the low-pressure area here in the north of the country,
01:47we also have cloud clusters in the east of Mindanao, outside the park.
01:51So, it is also possible that this will be a low-pressure area within the next 48 hours.
01:55So, until the end of this month, there is still a low chance that we will have a third storm for July.
02:01I see. But just for the information of our countrymen,
02:05what is it that is usually affected in a low-pressure area for a storm to occur?
02:13In a low-pressure area, when the atmospheric pressure is lower, it becomes a storm.
02:19And one of those factors is the hot sea surface temperature.
02:23So, the temperature of our ocean should be at least 26 degrees Celsius.
02:27Then, the vertical wind shear should also be low.
02:30It means that the air should not be disturbed from the lower up to the upper parts of the atmosphere
02:35so that the circulation of the boat will not be damaged.
02:38I see. And as of today, there are already many classes open for public education.
02:45What do you expect?
02:46There is already time here in Metro Manila.
02:48And for the next few hours, okay?
02:51Yes. For the rest of the day, there is still time here in Metro Manila.
02:55We are still advising them to bring umbrellas.
02:58The areas such as Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, parts of Laguna, Pampanga,
03:05up to the areas of Bataan, that's where it rains the most.
03:07Bataan, Zambales, Ilocos Region, Abra and Benguet, the areas where it rains,
03:12it's because of the low pressure.
03:13But it's not the low pressure like last week, like Karina.
03:17It's light to moderate with at times heavy rains.
03:20All right. Thank you very much for your updates to us and for guiding us.
03:23That was Weather Specialist Benison S. Tareja.
