‘Habagat’ weakens, LPA to exit Philippine area of responsibility

00:04At the moment, we are still monitoring this low-pressure area

00:08that was last seen 480 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

00:13And as we can see, it is almost at the boundary of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:20So in the next few hours, we expect that it will come out of PAR

00:24and will not affect any part of our country.

00:27There is also a low chance that this will be a typhoon

00:30so it will have a weak impact on the south-west in the next few days.

00:35Meanwhile, if we can see, the effect of the south-west monsoon will continue

00:40especially here in the northern part of Luzon,

00:44where we still hope that the dark times will continue

00:47with scattered storms, especially in the areas of Ilocos Region and Zambales.

00:53Meanwhile, in the southern part of our country,

00:56if we can see, we do not see any thick clouds

01:00that could cause rain all day long in the southern part of our region.

01:05So we expect today to be hot, especially in the afternoon

01:10and there are chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms

01:14or sudden rainfall when it comes to the afternoon or evening.

01:18Meanwhile, in the next few days,

01:20aside from the low-pressure area that we are monitoring,

01:23we are not monitoring any other low-pressure area or typhoons

01:26inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.

01:29So we expect that in the next few days until the upcoming weekend,

01:33the hot weather will continue in a large part of our country.

01:37There are only 5 chances of isolated or sudden rain showers.

01:44As we have said, in the next few days here in Luzon,

01:47the effect of the southwest monsoon will continue in the northern part of Luzon.

01:52We expect the rainy season in Ilocos Region and Zambales.

01:56Meanwhile, in the southern part of Luzon,

01:59it is hot when it comes to the afternoon,

02:01but when it comes to the afternoon or evening,

02:03there are chances of isolated thunderstorms.

02:07Although the areas here in the western section of Luzon,

02:11in some parts of Cordillera in Central Luzon,

02:14in the western section of Calabar Zone in Cavite, Batangas,

02:17and also in the Rizal area,

02:19and here in Occidental Mindoro,

02:21even this morning, it is still possible for sudden rain showers,

02:25but when it comes to the afternoon, the weather will be hot

02:28and there are chances of rain showers when it comes to the afternoon or evening.

02:32So we are just monitoring the thunderstorm advisories

02:35that our Pag-asa Regional Services Division is issuing.

02:39In terms of the temperature today in the surrounding cities here in Luzon,

02:43for Lawag, and also in Tugueg, Garau, Legazpi,

02:46and here in Metro Manila,

02:48our maximum temperatures reach 32 degrees Celsius,

02:52while in Baguio, it is 17 to 22 degrees Celsius,

02:55and 24 to 31 degrees Celsius for Tagaytay.

03:00In the western part of our country,

03:03where the weather will be good today,

03:05just like what we saw in the satellite image earlier,

03:07we are not able to see any thick clouds

03:10and it is not yet possible for rain to fall all day long,

03:13so the weather will still be hot,

03:16especially when it comes to the afternoon,

03:18and there are chances of isolated thunderstorms when it comes to the afternoon or evening.

03:24In terms of the temperature in the surrounding cities of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,

03:29for Calayan Islands and Puerto Princesa,

03:31our maximum temperatures reach 32 degrees Celsius.

03:36Here in Visayas, for Iloilo and Cebu,

03:40our maximum temperatures reach 32 degrees Celsius,

03:4325 or 26 to 31 degrees Celsius for Tacloban.

03:47Here in Cagayan de Oro, it will be 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:5132 degrees Celsius is also the maximum temperature for Davao,

03:55and for Zamboanga, the water temperature will range from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

04:02In terms of the condition of our oceans,

04:05we do not have any gale warnings for now,

04:07but we are allowed to experience up to moderate waves in our oceans,

04:11which is why our countrymen who have small sea vehicles are able to sail freely.
