00:00Good morning, I am Benison Estareja and we still have an update regarding the severe tropical storm Cristin with international name Trami as of 5 in the morning on Friday.
00:13This storm is in the West Philippines and last seen 125 kilometers north of La Union.
00:22Maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near its center and gustiness up to 115 kilometers per hour.
00:30Part of the storm is speeding away from our land 25 kilometers per hour fast west northwest.
00:37As seen in our latest satellite animation, this thick cloud is still associated with the storm Cristin, especially in the western sections of Luzon.
00:45While expected, there are still scattered rains in the remaining part of Luzon and Visayas.
00:51This is the latest track regarding the storm Cristin.
00:55It is expected that our land is still moving away for the next 12 hours and it is possible that the Philippine Area of Responsibility will be released later this afternoon.
01:04However, knowing that this storm is still close to our land and the radius and width of 1,400 kilometers is around 700 to 750 kilometers,
01:16it is possible that we will still have wind signals and a large part of Luzon will still be affected by our next bulletins.
01:24It is expected that there will still be a severe tropical storm as it moves away from our land.
01:29However, based on our latest track, it is possible that it will move away by Sunday and Monday.
01:34Then by Monday, while in the east of Central Vietnam, the direction will be released and there will be a looping back to our land in the direction of Luzon.
01:44And we are still not ruling out that it will enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility again.
01:51It is expected that there will be a severe tropical storm while it is in the ocean.
01:55And the impact of the storm Cristin is influenced by another storm that is outside our bar.
02:03As of 4 in the morning, our tropical depression that we are monitoring in the east of Mindanao is 2,440 kilometers away from the east of Visayas.
02:13As of 4 in the morning, the wind is 55 kilometers per hour and there is a gust of 70 kilometers per hour.
02:20The low-pressure area in its north is more than 2,500 kilometers east of Visayas.
02:27And eventually, because this is a low chance that there will be a storm, it is possible that this tropical depression will become a trough.
02:35It is expected that from now until the weekend, it will move closer to our land and the tropical depression will become stronger.
02:46Based on our latest Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential Forecast,
02:50maybe by the end of the week, the Philippine Area of Responsibility will enter the so-called tropical depression.
02:56And if ever there will be a storm, we will call it the Lion Storm.
03:01Maybe by then, it will be a tropical storm or a severe tropical storm.
03:05And it is expected to move west-northwest or upwards to the left.
03:09So if it arrives early next week, it will be in the northern part of the Philippine Sea.
03:16Starting from Wednesday next week until the weekend, it will move slowly along the coast of the extreme northern zone.
03:23It will recurve and move up to the eastern part of Taiwan.
03:27And the Philippine Area of Responsibility may exit by the end of the first week of November.
03:33We can see by this time, the influence of the return or the looping of the Christine Storm
03:39to the approaching of the so-called Lion Storm.
03:42So if the distance of the two storms reaches less than 1,400 kilometers,
03:46and they will remain strong as a tropical storm minimum,
03:50then we may have the so-called Fujiwara Effect or the interaction of the two storms.
03:56That is why it is possible for the movement of the two storms to move around.
04:01But it will not last. Eventually, it will move away from our land.
04:05This is the so-called Lion Storm.
04:07And it will also weaken, the Christine Storm, by the first week of November.
04:13For now, because of the Christine Storm, we still have the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals No. 2 and No. 1
04:18in a large part of Luzon and Visayas.
04:21We expect the Signal No. 2 or up to 95 or 88 kilometers per hour
04:26with strong winds in Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Calinga, Abra,
04:33Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Benguet.
04:36Signal No. 2 also in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, and Nueva Izija.
04:44Signal No. 2 also, we expect strong winds in Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila.
04:54Signal No. 2 still this morning.
04:57Also in the northern part of Cavite, northern part of Rizal, and General Nacar in Quezon Province.
05:04Signal No. 1 here in Batanes and in the southern part of Luzon, particularly rest of Rizal, rest of Cavite,
05:12Batangas, Laguna, rest of Quezon.
05:15Signal No. 1 here in Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon,
05:20northern part of Mainland Palawan, as well as the islands of Calamian, Cuyo, and Calean Islands.
05:27And Signal No. 1 here in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, northern and central part of Sorsogon,
05:36as well as the northern and central portions of Masbate, as well as Burrias and Tikau Islands.
05:41Signal No. 1 here in Aklan, Capiz, Antique, and northwestern portion of Iloilo.
05:47Some parts of Negros Island plus Iloilo, we have already removed our Signal No. 1.
05:53And eventually, in our next bulletins, we will remove Signal No. 1 in southern Luzon and Visayas,
05:59and possibly we will downgrade in central and southern Luzon,
06:04becoming Signal No. 1 in our next bulletins as this typhoon Christine moves away from the mainland.
06:12These are the places where we experienced heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.
06:17If they will notice, the rain will decrease and the places where there will be rain.
06:22Expect moderate to heavy rains here in Mayla Union, Pangasinan, Penguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, and Bataan.
06:33In the remaining part of Luzon, including Metro Manila, as well as the remaining part of Visayas,
06:39we still expect heavy rain and thunderstorms this morning.
06:43Then there are times when the rainfall will decrease, especially when it reaches afternoon to night.
06:47And at some point in the afternoon, it is possible that the sun will shine for most of Luzon and Visayas.
06:54Even so, we will still experience heavy rainfall in some areas.
06:58We mentioned that there will be moderate to heavy rains.
07:01There is still a high chance of flooding in low-lying areas.
07:05Waterlogging is still possible, especially if it is still raining in the mountains.
07:09The water level will suddenly drop in your area.
07:12And then expect landslides.
07:15If the land is saturated or the water cannot be absorbed, landslides may occur.
07:20That is why we should make sure that we are coordinated with our local disaster risk reduction and management offices
07:25if evacuation is still needed, especially for the flood victims.
07:30We should also coordinate with local chief executives for possible work and class suspensions.
07:39For those who will experience heavy rainfall in remote areas from the typhoon,
07:43we still expect heavy rainfall in Mimaropa and Bicol regions, as well as in a large part of Visayas,
07:49Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Region, Socsabgen, and even Davao Region.
07:58Tomorrow, on Saturday, we will still experience heavy rainfall in Palawan, Siquijor, Bohol, Southern Leyte, Zamboanga del Norte,
08:08Camiguin, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte due to the outer portion of the Christine typhoon.
08:15And when it comes to floods, we still have gale warning or possible sea travel suspensions for the next 24 hours.
08:23Floods up to 7 meters high or more than 2 feet high are possible in the northern and western seaboards of Luzon,
08:30particularly in Batanes, Northern Cagayan, as well as Babuyan Islands.
08:34In the entire Ilocos region, up to 7 meters high floods are possible.
08:39Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Pababa ng Cavite, Batangas, and Lubang Island.
08:45We also have up to 5.5 meters of rainfall in the seaboards of northern and southern Luzon,
08:51including the eastern coast of Cagayan, Isabela, Pababa ng Quezon, Metro Manila, Bulacan, mainland Occidental Mindoro,
09:00and Hilagang Baybayin of Palawan, as well as Kalamian, Cuyo, Kalayaan, and Cagayan Silio.
09:08We also have up to 4.5 meters of rainfall in the seaboards of southern Luzon and western Visayas,
09:16Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Baybayin ng Catanduanes, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon,
09:23Burrias Island, Guinness Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.
09:30When we have wind signals, sea travel is automatically suspended for all types of sea vessels.
09:35When there is no signal, but there is still a gale warning, it is still possible to suspend small sea vehicles.
09:43And when it comes to storm waves, while the storm Christine is moving away,
09:47our waves are also decreasing, but there are still up to 2 meters here in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales.
09:56So make sure that we can also coordinate if we see that the waves are increasing in the coastal areas.
