00:00I thought those are gonna stay together a little bit better. No we're doing four
00:05so me I'm a receiver right? There we go. What's up GQ I'm Devontae Adams and
00:13these are my essentials. These are one of my prized possessions here. These ones in
00:22particular are one of my favorites that I've ever designed and I've designed
00:26quite a few shoes aka cleats that get turned into turf. So first we'll look at
00:31the back. This is the most important piece right here. You'll see that on
00:34there. Top two not two. That's just to let everybody know in case they do forget. You
00:39got some snake skin, some croc skin, a little bit of everything on here. Got a
00:43little shiny silver on here. You know it's supposed to be Raiders colors
00:46mixing it in with a little red for Fresno in there as well. I try to get
00:50sneaky with a few things just to you know add a little bit of my flair and
00:53some of my past into them as well but you know as a lifelong Jordan fan,
00:57Michael Jordan fan and the brand of Jordan, you're never guaranteed to be on
01:01that brand. You know so to be a part of elite company it means a lot to me but
01:06to be stamped by Michael himself means a lot as well. So I try to do the best that
01:10I can on the field to be a good reflection of the brand. I think I'm the
01:14most competitive active athlete. I think Michael Jordan is the most competitive
01:18human being who's ever lived. Whether he's golfing, he's out there, they're
01:21paying up bets you know after every hole. To hear that he's still playing 36
01:25holes of golf a day, that's a different level of competitive edge and I admire
01:29that about him and try to put a little bit of that in into my secret sauce as
01:33well. This right here is old trustee for the last 10 years. This exact guy right
01:41here every single day because I would not go to sleep without a do-rag on my
01:46head. Show everybody how we do this. We throw it on like that. I don't have a
01:49mirror so it may be a little messed up. Throw it like that behind the ears and
01:53then we do one more. Boom. This is how I usually rock this every single night and
01:58I probably look stupid with it right now so I'm gonna take it back off but this is
02:01what keeps the hair clean, keeps it laid down. 10 years right here same one.
02:05Somebody tried to steal this on a bachelor's trip. They tried to claim it
02:08was theirs and frankly they almost lost their lives trying to take my my do-rag.
02:12It got to a point where I thought things may get physical because you ain't going
02:15nowhere with this. I love my vehicle. I have a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a Lamborghini
02:24Urus, Bentley Continental, Spur, the four-door and I have a Ferrari F8 Spyder.
02:30Here she is. They took the 458 which was the predecessor, amped it up with
02:36everything, fixed the inside, all the little bugs and turned it into weapon X.
02:41So now it's one of the best Ferraris on the street. The way I choose a car in
02:45general is it has to be beautiful. If it's a sports car, it's got to be loud.
02:48It's got to sound amazing. It's got to sound amazing even idle, not just driving
02:52because I don't drive super fast all the time and it's got to have a good sound
02:55system no matter what race car or not. It's got to have a good sound system
02:59otherwise I will not be buying that car. My very first car, it was not a Ferrari.
03:04It was even better. It was a 94 stick shift Honda Accord with looks like
03:09bullet holes but they are not. That is just paint peeling aka character but I
03:13love this car. Love that the window on my side didn't work. You had to punch the
03:18side of it to make the window be able to drop down and when my mom would drive me
03:22around this car when I was a kid, I would get bored in there so I would grab a pin
03:25out of the glove box or whatever and for some reason I just started poking holes
03:29in the top of the car so there's still holes in the top of this vehicle and I
03:33think that's why she made me drive it throughout college and when I first got
03:36in the league and then from there we went and hopped in a Porsche to make sure we
03:40didn't have to deal with that anymore.
03:44Really all of my timepieces are essential but this one right here means
03:48a lot to me. It was like my first premium premium premium watch that I got. Patek
03:53Philippe Aquanaut Award when I met Bruno Mars in Vegas. I think I had a few too
03:58many drinks and somehow scratched the face a little bit right here and I want
04:02to get it fixed but part of me likes that there's a little bit more character
04:05to it on the face. You know in the rapper game they call those moons, the chrono in
04:09there. People that really know watches you know my friend Mark Wahlberg he's
04:13got probably one of the most ridiculous watch collections ever but he observed
04:17that and knew exactly what was going on so it's kind of one of those if you know
04:20you know type watches and I think John Mayer actually said something about this
04:24if you have a watch like this this lets everybody else know that you have a lot
04:28of watches like this.
04:31Right here we got the Tom Ford tobacco vanilla. This is one of the
04:35most essential things for me. You know if I had to jog past somebody for
04:40whatever reason you're probably gonna be smelling Tom. I use this usually on game
04:43days because we obviously play more games during the day than we do at
04:47nighttime so smells amazing. Let's get a little. Smells like me. That's good stuff.
04:58I mean this is up at the top. I own I think four pair of these exact ones right
05:03here because these are my favorite shades all time. These are kind of like
05:06my invisible shades. When I put these on I feel like my social anxiety decreases
05:11like I'm looking at her right now you think I'm looking at the camera and I'm
05:13just scoping her out making sure she's not preying on my family or gonna steal
05:17my cologne. I don't know anything so it's good to be able to wear them just so I
05:20can kind of feel like I've you know I'm kind of invisible for the moment so it's
05:24partially that partially the look but everything that I wear I want you to
05:27know that it's not necessarily expensive but it's premium but I don't necessarily
05:31want you to know exactly what the brand is unless you're a connoisseur yourself.
05:35When you look at these shades from here like they could be Ray-Bans they could
05:39be whatever you know but they just so happen to not be Ray-Bans and be Prada
05:42because I'm the Prada Dundada.
05:46This is an essential for me because you know see me game days usually I either
05:51got the bun up if not you'll see me walk in like this and I've actually noticed
05:56that I get recognized more by fans and people on the outside in my hat with my
06:02hair down like this. I kind of partially wear my hair like this a little bit
06:07because it protects them and you know some of this accidentally kind of turned
06:10into just my look. They'll come to the signing with fake dreads and then a
06:14snapback hat on so when I see stuff like that in a way I kind of do it to you
06:19know show them that I appreciate the fact that they're doing that so just win baby.
06:27So since a kid these right here these been one of the most essential pieces
06:32before I even knew what essentials were. Skittles are my favorite candy hands
06:36down but the sour Skittles these take up a whole special block in my heart. These
06:41are what led to me ultimately getting two root canals in high school so thank
06:46you Skittles for that. I don't always keep it back with me because I try to be
06:49better and my kids I mean they can eat a whole cow and then turn around say
06:53they're starving if they see you with whatever. I got to keep it away to
06:57prevent having to deal with future root canals at a young age for those two.
07:04Boom. This is part of my skincare routine. Very essential piece for me is my gel
07:10wash aka face wash. My wife is an esthetician so she actually put me on to
07:14this and when you see me out there on the on the TV screen and just absolutely
07:18blemishless it's partially due to the Stone Crop gel wash right here. The smell
07:23it honestly reminds me of my wife because the Stone Crop lotion from
07:28Eminence is the one that she uses so if I'm away it kind of helps me think about
07:32my wife a little bit more. That was a little bit of a joke but it's it's true.
07:35Indirectly I think about her I'm not sitting there crying and like oh let me
07:39go put my face wash on so I can think about my wife. It kind of happens just
07:42just by chance I guess you could say. Now we also have the blue chapstick brand
07:48right here. This guy you see these lips I have to mainly attribute it to this guy
07:53right here so I keep this on me especially in Vegas 12 to 15 times a
07:57day. Get some of this action going on. Get them nice and yeah it's my guy. What
08:04does this even smell like? It kind of smells like cocoa butter a little bit
08:07almost and I used to use a lot of cocoa butter as most African-American kids did.
08:11I guess you know in a way it takes me back to my childhood. I don't even know
08:14that till now so that's good to know. The most important thing on the planet to me
08:19more than a do-rag, shoes, hat, glasses, Skittles, even more important than
08:24Skittles, my family. They mean the world to me because they basically give me
08:28purpose. It's to the point where I don't even remember what I used to do in my
08:32life before I had kids. I feel like I was just wasting time every everything that
08:35I did. Once Deja joined us in 2019 I feel like that's where I really started to
08:40figure out life in general and you know my wife has helped me all along with
08:44everything. They played a huge role in the player that I am on the field. You
08:48know the man that I am in this world today so it's a blessing being able to
08:51be surrounded by you know my great family that we've created and you know
08:55having met my wife so early that's that's also a blessing. I don't know
08:57where I'll be without them but I don't have to be without them so we won't have
09:01to figure that out. Thanks for watching guys. Make sure you check out Receiver on
09:04Netflix.
