Nick Harris on what to watch for in tomorrow's Cowboys/Raiders preseason game
Tomorrow sees the Cowboys taking part in their second preseason game of the 2024 season, this time agains the Raiders in Las Vegas. Nick Harris from DallasCowboys.com joined the GBag Nation to preview the game and discuss which players are worth keeping an eye on in tomorrow's late game.

00:00The offensive players that you expect to see a lot of, who do you think could use that
00:19touchdown the most to really help their case to make the roster?
00:23I'm going to go Tyron Billy Johnson and also Deuce Vaughn.
00:27Can I use two there?
00:28Okay.
00:29I think Tyron Billy Johnson, he only had two series in the game against the Rams.
00:32I expected him to get a lot more work.
00:35He's looked really good out here in Oxnard, but Jalen Cropper has kind of caught up to
00:38him, if not surpassed him.
00:40So I think if they want to take six receivers, that final spot, man, it's going to be really
00:44close between those two guys, Ryan Flannoy, Rayce McMath is kind of in that mix as well.
00:49And then you look at Deuce Vaughn, he's been out for most of training camp with a hamstring
00:53issue.
00:54He finally returns this week, but man, he needs to have a big game in one of these final
00:57two preseason games.
00:58The running back room is clearly looking for some juice.
01:01He definitely has that juice, but can he put it on the field?
01:04That's going to be really big for him to try and prove.
01:05If he had a big touchdown in this game against the Raiders, man, that would be awesome for
01:09his stock.
01:10Is that where the biggest competitions lie in terms of fighting for roster spots?
01:15Is it that wide receiver room, Nick, or is it somewhere else where they're going to have
01:18to make some seriously tough decisions?
01:20Yeah, receiver is the one I'm definitely looking at.
01:22I think it's a good problem that they have at wide receiver.
01:24I think they got a lot of guys that are worthy of being on an NFL roster, but I think they're
01:29going to end up taking six.
01:31They can only take those six.
01:33You look at the five from last year with C.D. Lamb, Brandon Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, Jalen
01:37Brooks, and Kevontae Turpin, I think those five guys are safe.
01:40Then you look at that sixth spot, who's it going to be?
01:42I think that's going to be a really interesting battle.
01:44And then you also look at the linebacking core, who are going to be the linebackers
01:47that they take?
01:48Who's the last one in that room that they take?
01:50It's going to be a fascinating argument.
01:52And then the corner has definitely had some switching up over the course of the last week.
01:55Trade out Nashawn Wright, you get Andrew Booth, okay, then who's going to be at the depth
01:59of that corner room?
02:00Does Eric Scott Jr. have a roster spot?
02:02He had one last year, but he never played.
02:04So there's going to be some interesting decisions made for sure.
02:07I think it's going to be a more interesting 53 cut than it was last year for sure.
