00:00In an unofficial conversation with journalists in the Court of Appeal,
00:04Kimran Khan has once again announced negotiations with the army.
00:07But the important thing is that now he is demanding that the army appoint a representative from its side.
00:12What makes you think that the army will appoint its own representative?
00:17Look, the first thing is that in the entire history of Pakistan,
00:22the army has always negotiated with the politicians.
00:26But neither did those negotiations come to light,
00:30nor did anyone appoint a representative,
00:33and neither was there any coverage of those negotiations.
00:37If these negotiations have been going on,
00:40then in the darkness of the night, or in a place where the press is far away,
00:47there is no coverage.
00:49Because the army is not allowed to play a political role.
00:54And you know that Brigadier General Imtiaz,
00:58General Asad Durrani and General Javed Nasser,
01:02they were dismissed from the army because they had a role in politics.
01:09And when there was a discussion about it in the army,
01:14they all had to be dismissed from their jobs.
01:18That they do meetings, or General Javed Nasser,
01:22that he flew from a helicopter in Nawaz Sharif's procession.
01:28So this means that the army cannot do this.
01:33And if they ever do it illegally,
01:36or whatever their interests are, national interests,
01:41even if it happens, it is a secret.
01:43Like the meeting in London.
01:45They can be arrested by the law if they do this.
01:49So this is neither possible legally, nor politically.
01:55So this demand is wrong.
01:57The second thing is that there has definitely been a role of a covert army,
02:02and it has been very powerful.
02:04Governments have been reformed, governments have been brought in,
02:07there is no doubt about it.
02:09But there is a superstition,
02:12and the law is based on that superstition.
02:17The veil of that superstition is not lifted.
02:20The Pentagon is probably the most powerful institution in America.
02:26But they also run the Pentagon in general.
02:32But there is a superstition that first you have to get approval from the president,
02:36then someone has to decide.
02:38Therefore, if they reject one proposal, they send another.
02:43Similarly, even in Pakistan, although we know that there is a lot of power,
02:50but this superstition should be maintained.
02:53And the first condition is that politicians should be discussed with politicians.
02:58All the big political positive developments in Pakistan,
03:04they have been discussed among all politicians,
03:09whether it is the 1973 Act, whether it is the 18th Amendment,
03:14whether it is the Charter of Democracy,
03:16whether it is the changes of caretakers in the Act,
03:20there are other changes.
03:22And ultimately, although the army sometimes has reservations on these things,
03:27they had reservations on the NFC, they had reservations on the 18th Amendment,
03:32but in the end, the army has to accept it.
03:35The consensus that develops politically, has to be accepted.
03:40The Charter of Democracy took place.
03:42Obviously, the army had reservations.
03:44We all know that they had reservations.
03:47But for 10 years, democracy went under that system.
03:51And then ultimately, when Imran Khan rose,
03:54then the system that the Charter of Democracy had developed, it broke.
03:59Therefore, this is a very humble request.
04:03While living in the framework of a constitution and a democracy,
04:07we absolutely need to discuss with the establishment.
04:11No problem, they are also our own.
04:13And discuss with them.
04:15But these discussions in the middle,
04:19this is a joke of the constitution.
04:21This is a joke of democracy.
04:23You used to meet as Prime Minister.
04:27You used to meet even before that.
04:29But don't make such demands in the middle.
04:33And even if you make a light consensus with the politicians,
04:37that consensus ultimately has to be accepted by everyone.
04:40Even now, you are sitting in the Assembly.
04:42And you have raised your voice.
04:44So you have accepted this government.
04:46You take part in the assembly proceedings every day.
04:51The Prime Minister is also sitting there.
04:53The Speaker of Farm 47 is also sitting there.
04:57And you also have meetings with him every day.
05:00So in a way, when you have become a part of the system,
05:03and it is a good thing that you have not rebelled against the system,
05:06then accept the rest of the things.
05:08Sit with them.
05:10If you have to decide the basic things with them, then what is the harm?
