00:00Hi, I'm Sam Freeman, and alongside Justin Walsh and Adam Nickitins of Ernst & Young Australia,
00:06I have been appointed Joint and Several Voluntary Administrator by Rex Group's respective Boards of Directors.
00:13A voluntary administration is a process that companies undertake to restructure their operations.
00:19In this short video, I'll take you through what that means for you as a customer of Rex Group.
00:25Most importantly, Rex's regional Saab 340 flights are currently unaffected.
00:30This means that if you are flying on a regional route that is those operated by the Saab 340 planes like the one behind me,
00:37you aren't affected by this voluntary administration.
00:40The Rex Group has a long and proud history of servicing regional and remote communities across Australia,
00:45and the administration provides the process to continue that legacy.
00:49As of today, the domestic 737 services between major airports have been cancelled, and the 737 fleet has been grounded.
00:57If you are a customer on one of those routes displayed on the screen, please do not come to the airport today as your flight has been cancelled.
01:04The dedicated team here at Rex are contacting customers that are affected.
01:08We have partnered with Virgin Australia, offering impacted Rex passengers free of charge rebooking on a Virgin flight.
01:15To take up this rebooking offer, prepaid Rex ticket holders need to contact the Virgin Australia Guest Contact Centre on 13 6789
01:23or visit the Virgin website for more information by Wednesday 14 August 2024.
01:29Rex customers with an existing ticket on a flight cancelled due to the administration process
01:34will have the opportunity to transfer their ticket free of charge to an overlapping Virgin Australia service.
01:40Eligible customers will be re-accommodated on Virgin Australia flights as close as practicable to their original time of travel.
01:47It's important that holders of affected tickets should not come to the airport for their flight until they have re-booked their flights through contacting Virgin.
01:56The administrators would like to thank Virgin Australia on behalf of Rex customers for its support during this difficult time.
02:03Thank you.
