00:00Let's begin with the very latest from the games in Paris, and we begin with the idea
00:08and application from Canada to essentially try and reduce the six point deduction that
00:15they had because of the drone incident, which Canada used to view another team and another
00:23country's club to try and get an advantage.
00:26Their appeal right now against the soccer team with their deduction has been denied.
00:32The panel of three judges dismissed Canada's appeal and has been confirmed that the six
00:38point deduction has been instituted by FIFA.
00:42It is done.
00:43Two assistant coaches used drones to spy on New Zealand's practices last week before the
00:47Olympic Games.
00:49And naturally, now that this has been thrown out, we got a statement from the Court of
00:53Arbitration of Sport.
00:55And here it is.
00:56The application filed by the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Soccer in relation to
01:02the six point deduction imposed on the women's soccer team for the football tournament at
01:07the Olympic Games in Paris has been officially dismissed.
01:13Don't fly a drone over another team's practice.
01:16Lesson learned there.
01:17Canada, I mean, has virtually no shot of winning the gold because of that.
01:21Now over to Major League Baseball.
01:24How can we do 40, 50 transactions in two minutes here on the show?
01:28I don't know.
01:29We probably would need another show, but let's go through some of the bigger ones that happened
01:33yesterday.
01:34The Los Angeles Dodgers get another starting pitcher for the postseason run.
01:39Jack Flaherty ends up going to the Dodgers from the Tigers.
01:44So if Yamamoto is healthy and Clayton Kershaw is healthy and Glasnow is healthy, in addition
01:50to some of the other players that they acquired, the Dodgers will be formidable coming up in
01:54September.
01:55The Padres have added Tanner Scott from the Marlins.
01:58They traded four prospects over there.
02:00Scott goes to the back end of the bullpen in San Diego.
02:03The Orioles were very busy at the trade deadline acquiring Trevor Rodgers from Miami and also
02:07Eloy Jimenez from the Chicago White Sox.
02:10They also got Gregory Soto to add to the back of their bullpen as well.
02:14As far as the San Francisco Giants are concerned, not quite waving the white flag, but certainly
02:20trading some pieces as they moved Jorge Soler a couple of days ago, and then yesterday moving
02:25Alex Cobb to Cleveland.
02:27So the Guardians fortified their rotation as well.
02:30Luis Garcia and Lucas Sims go to the Red Sox.
02:34The Pirates get the bat that they were looking for in Miami's Brian De La Cruz and Isaiah
02:40Kiner-Falefa, who signed that deal in the offseason with the Blue Jays.
02:44He goes to the Pirates as well.
02:47But arguably, outside of the Tampa Bay Rays, the team that made the most moves at the deadline
02:52ended up yesterday overtaking them in the Miami Marlins.
02:56The Marlins acquired 14, 15 different prospects yesterday, of which I was trying to report
03:04on all of them as much as possible.
03:06They traded two relief pitchers.
03:07They traded a starting pitcher.
03:09They traded a bat.
03:11Then they traded another bat.
03:12I mean, it was hard to keep up with all the moves they made yesterday.
03:16Peter Bendix, the president of baseball operations, released a statement yesterday saying, you
03:20know, good things coming for the future, and he'll talk to the media today in St. Petersburg.
03:25Meanwhile, in St. Petersburg, they're looking for a new stadium, and it could potentially
03:29now be happening for the Tampa Bay Rays.
03:32The government backing that they needed to build a long sought-after ballpark in Pinellas
03:36County has been approved.
03:38It's a 30,000 seat stadium.
03:41The county voted five to two to approve spending.
03:43It's about $312.5 million for their share of the ballpark.
03:49Overall, they're looking at a cost of $1.3 billion.
03:53In order to get the funding, they have to agree to a 30-year lease, and there's a redevelopment
03:59program going on in Pinellas County, over $6 billion for the Rays, new stadium coming
04:03there.
04:04Mike Trout and his rehab shut down, unfortunately, on Tuesday.
04:09He had a setback with his recovery from a meniscus surgery.
04:12He had surgery on May 3rd.
04:13They also placed Anthony Rendon on the injured list.
04:16You've heard that story before.
04:17Baltimore Orioles make a move today.
04:19They have recalled Jackson Holliday from AAA, so get set to see one of the top prospects
04:23in baseball.
04:25Last night in baseball, the Yankees end up beating the Phillies again.
04:28Jazz Chisholm Jr., a homers, not once but twice.
04:32He has been an absolute monster for them in doing things that they've never seen in the
04:37history of the franchise in his first couple of games.
04:39This afternoon, they will play again, Phillies, minus 136 on the money line against the Yankees.
04:44That game coming up at 12.35 Eastern, Nestor Cortez against Christopher Sanchez, and then
04:49also 12.35 Eastern today, second game on the board.
04:53We've got the Orioles taking on the Blue Jays, and actually, Orioles are going to be big
04:56favorites there, total of nine on the board.
04:59Back to the Olympics we go.
05:01We'll give you some results, Simone Biles, U.S. Gymnastics, they win the gold in Paris
05:05after a total score of 171.296.
05:09The Americans defeated Italy, silver medalist, by nearly six points.
05:13There was almost a seven-point gap for the bronze medal.
05:16Biles scored a total of 14.666 points, first gold since 2016.
05:24Also the triathlon finally underway, E. coli be damned, the Olympics going on right now
05:30in that river inside, S-E-I-N-E, I believe is how it's pronounced.
05:35Days of concerns over water quality, and that thing is underway right now, so good to see
05:40that they're starting there.
05:41Okay, Novak Djokovic, let's go to tennis in Paris, striving for the gold, one of his last
05:46remaining accomplishments.
05:47He has a victory today, 7-5-6-3 over somebody from Germany, his name is Dominic Koper, K-O-E-P-F-E-R,
05:57hopefully I got that one right.
05:58Gold medal on the line here for Djokovic, who has certainly a shot of capturing that
06:02this weekend.
06:03Also, interesting story in the competition that they're calling the Olympic 3x3 basketball,
06:09former sharpshooter Jimmer Furnette made its debut.
06:13The Americans fell to Serbia, 22-14 on Tuesday night, and not the best performance, at least
06:20to get things started there.
06:22In addition, there's some news from the National Football League coming out today.
06:25No, not with any of the players, but for those of you who are used to watching NFL games
06:31and seeing the referees bring out the chain to determine if a team has a first down or
06:35not, looks like that could be completely going away, going to a digital system that we could
06:41see implemented as soon as this season.
06:45So get ready, especially in the preseason, to see those sticks and chains go away and
06:49more of a digital system implemented, big story from the NFL today.
06:53DJ Moore got traded to the Chicago Bears, and as they build for the future, they're
06:58paying more for it.
07:00Four years, $110 million contract extension for Caleb Williams' top target, $82.6 million
07:08guaranteed.
07:09It's third for a wide receiver on a single contract in NFL history.
07:13Justin Jefferson has that title.
07:16Lions defensive end John Kaminsky suffers a torn MCL in practice, could be back for
07:22the playoffs, 6'5", 285 pounds, two quarterback hurries in the postseason, a big part of what
07:28they did last year for Detroit on defense, not going to be part of their regular season,
07:32at least for now.
07:33The head coach of the New York Jets, Robert Salas, trying to keep Aaron Rodgers healthy.
07:38And since that he will sit out the preseason, he is expected to start the first game of
07:44the NFL season.
07:45But that third game on August 24th is the only one that they're deciding as to whether
07:49or not Rodgers will play.
07:51And also, Army is looking to recoup $6 million in business news from the United Football
07:56League, $11 million marketing deal with the UFL, and Dwayne The Rock Johnson saying their
08:02partnership failed to yield a single new recruit from the UFL, according to a Military.com
08:10report.
08:11An Army spokesman told Military.com the service is in the process of working with the UFL
08:15to determine the final amount that they're hoping to recoup from the deal.
08:19Not the best news continuing for these alternate football leagues here in the United States.
