00:00It's been less than two weeks since President Biden's name was removed from the Democratic
00:07Party's ticket.
00:08I've already spoken about how the effort to sideline Democrats' de facto nominee robbed
00:17primary voters of their role in the electoral process.
00:22Now as the dust settles, more and more Americans are realizing this wasn't just a process,
00:33pal.
00:34It was also a massive promotion for someone with a failing record in her current job.
00:44Remember just two months into their term, the president asked the vice president, gave
00:52her the task of getting to the bottom of the surging illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico
00:58border.
01:00He called her, quote, the most qualified person to lead on this issue.
01:09So why don't we take a look at how she did.
01:13In the past three and a half years, the crisis at our southern border has made history.
01:23Border patrol agents have recorded over 9.9 million illegal encounters.
01:30We know that nearly 2 million more have literally gotten away.
01:35And the administration's catch and release policies have let in over 3 million without
01:43any credible means of enforcing immigration law.
01:49What rapidly became a humanitarian crisis on Vice President Harris' watch is also a
01:57national security vulnerability of alarming proportions.
02:04Since October 2021, CBP have encountered 539 individuals on the terror watch list
02:15along the southern border.
02:20The failure is vast.
02:24The facts are shocking.
02:27The numbers are staggering.
02:31But for too many American families, there's only one number that matters.
02:36The one empty chair at the dinner table.
02:40For some families, that chair is empty because an illegal immigrant killed their loved one.
02:46For many more, it's empty because Chinese manufacturers and Mexican cartels have exploited
02:54the chaos at the border and made fentanyl the leading cause of death for American adults.
03:03And yet, yet, in the face of pain and suffering, the administration's point person on the border
03:12has approached this crisis with profound unseriousness.
03:17It took the Vice President months to get around to visiting the border when I asked why she
03:23hadn't made it time to see the effects of the administration's open borders policies
03:29firsthand.
03:31She quipped that she's not been to Europe either.
03:36Sometimes instead of deflection, she's employed outright denial.
03:41For example, she said we have a secure border.
03:47Another example, everything is going rather smoothly.
03:51Of course, years earlier, under an administration that took border security seriously, then
03:57Senator Harris found plenty of time to elaborate on her aversion to that common sense policy.
04:05In 2017, when a federal judge blocked the previous administration's effort to deny federal
04:10funding to sanctuary cities, she reacted as follows.
04:16It's fantastic.
04:18I'm jumping up and down.
04:22Five exclamation points after what I just said.
04:28Democrats are poised to nominate someone with a long record of being dead wrong on securing
04:33America's borders.
04:35So perhaps it's not surprising that their media allies are working overtime to absolve
04:41the Vice President of responsibility for the undeniable crisis that unfolded on her watch.
04:49Last week, we read headlines like, no, Kamala Harris is not the border czar, and claims
04:57that, quote, the Vice President's role was more limited.
05:04After the short hiatus of asking tough questions about President Biden's fitness for office,
05:13the legacy media are back in business, papering over Democratic vulnerabilities, even, in
05:21this case, if it means blatantly gaslighting the public.
05:28But at the end of the day, the American people know what neglect looks like, families missing
05:34loved ones know what this sort of catastrophe, failure, catastrophic failure feels like.
05:42And in November, I expect I'll have plenty to say about it.
