Jillian Michaels Stands By Criticism of the Olympics Opening Ceremony: ‘What Did You Achieve?’

00:00I know you sparked a conversation on Twitter or X recently about, uh, what you said about the

00:05Olympics, about the, you know, the Last Supper depiction and things like that. And you called

00:09it a big F U. It was. Yeah. Come on. And the funny part is that the people who, who don't,

00:17okay, you can't deny that it was right. So then the way to deny that it was is like,

00:22Oh, it's the feast of Dionysus. And it's like, no, it's not. And the peep,

00:28the creator admitted in the French media that like, Hey, I'm trying to be thought provoking.

00:34And then some of the people on stage were like the last gay Testament. Like it's all out there.

00:39Google it. You get the answer you want. And you're like, nah, that's not what happened.

00:44It's like, well, billions of people, 2 billion Christians don't agree with you. And I'm not a

00:52religious person. I'm, I'm agnostic. I don't know. But what I am concerned about is breaking

00:59down barriers. And when has a member of the gay community, whether the gay community likes the

01:06way I'm gay or not, um, I am concerned about tolerance. I am concerned about breaking down

01:15barriers. So you need to resemble the behavior. You need to be the change you want to see in the

01:24world. You want tolerance, be tolerant. You want Michelle Obama. When they go low, go high. Not

01:28that anybody went low. They didn't. We have made so much progress. So why would you do that? And

01:36to me, it's like, Oh, get over it. It's like, you're not telling me to get over it. You need

01:40to tell the 2 billion people you just pissed off to get over it. Right? So what I don't understand

01:46is why there were so many ways that you could have represented inclusion. We knew that wasn't

01:55what was happening. And the reality is that there is a history in the gay community of feeling

02:02oppressed by certain religions. That's the truth. And I'm, I don't want to say confident,

02:10but I am suspecting that's where this came from. I just, I don't think it was the right move.

02:20It got a ton of upset, a ton of acrimony and even religious upset and acrimony. You know,

02:28you were seeing people saying, well, you didn't do this to the Muslims. And I was like, Oh God,

02:33no. And then it's, you know, there were Jewish and gay. I'm like, Oh, this is just no. Why?

02:41Yeah. At the end of the day, why? That's all. What did you achieve? Like I wanted a co-exist

02:48bumper sticker on that stage. Do you know what I'm saying? Give me a priest. Give me a rabbi.

02:53Sure. Give me a drag queen. Not in the last supper. Like whatever. Give me everybody getting along.

02:59I missed opportunity. In my opinion. Yeah. Definitely. And not just missed, like talk

03:06about going the exact opposite direction. Totally. So if you really preach unity and love and be

03:14respectful, show some empathy, show some understanding, be the change you want to see

03:21in the world.
