00:00Immigration and inflation have been found in this poll as the top issues facing voters.
00:06And these are two issues that President Biden, they were his biggest weaknesses in his re-election
00:13campaign.
00:14Are these weaknesses for her?
00:16And how does she explain these away?
00:19Well, well, definitely the immigration issue, which is which is where there's this whole
00:26debate now.
00:27Is she in charge of immigration or not?
00:30When clearly she was at least given the issue to handle and she obviously didn't didn't
00:35handle it in any meaningful way.
00:38Will the voters come around to to to that or will they skip over it?
00:42Are they just you know, the original idea of the of the Biden campaign was was frankly
00:48just to paint Trump as unacceptable and anti-democratic.
00:53And that failed because it turned out that Biden really couldn't handle the job of the
00:57presidency.
00:59So is she just going to make the campaign into that and try to avoid kind of all of
01:03these kind of difficult, difficult issues and in the trouble her that to trouble her
01:09and would trouble the electorate?
01:11And part of that is also how effective the Trump campaign is going to be.
01:15You can see here the Democratic campaign has been very effective in dragging up a comment
01:21from J.D. Vance from three years ago and getting it out there.
01:25But so far, the Trump campaign has not had the same effectiveness on social media against
01:30Harris and she is rising in favorability.
01:35Let's talk about that a little bit more, because her now as the likely nominee seems to have
01:41caught the Trump campaign flat footed a little bit.
01:44I mean, all the talk about unity after the assassination attempt seemingly went out the
01:49window.
01:50How do they pivot their strategy now that it's a Harris Trump race instead of a Biden
01:56Trump race?
01:59Well, they've got to focus first on the core issues that they have advantages are inflation
02:05or the economy, immigration, crime and really an international affairs where the world is
02:12aflame.
02:13And President Trump has a record of no wars while he was president.
02:20And so they have to get to those basics.
02:22And then second, they need to flesh out what does Harris really stand for and is she farther
02:28to the left than Joe Biden?
02:30And third, they have to tag Harris with the Biden administration, which is generally unpopular
02:37for the last several years with job ratings of around 40 percent.
