00:00Many places had a taste of summer this week with the highest temperature of the year so far recorded
00:06and an official heatwave for many areas but it broke down with some thunderstorms at the end of
00:10the working week. A different flavour for the weekend starting off warm but cloudy across many
00:15central southern and eastern parts of England and Wales with patchy light rain and drizzle.
00:20Elsewhere for Scotland for much of Northern Ireland plenty of sunshine but a chilly start
00:24largely dry as well. Through the day and that cloud and rain will continue its way further
00:29south and eastwards with some heavy downpours likely for the south and southeast. Meanwhile
00:33northern England, Wales and eventually the west country will become drier and brighter. Some sunny
00:38spells for Scotland and Northern Ireland but there will be some pokey showers about as well.
00:42Temperatures around average for the time of year but still quite warm and humid in the south and
00:46southeast. Sunday sees wet and windy conditions develop from the northwest so for Scotland and
00:51Northern Ireland it will be very wet throughout the day with brisk winds. Whereas across England
00:56and Wales mainly dry with some hazy spells of sunshine and still quite warm as well. The new
01:00week continues unsettled and becoming fresher. Further details at yourweather.co.uk
