00:00Police rescued a 28-year-old Nigerian woman who is believed to have been a victim of sexual
00:07exploitation during a raid in Kuala Lumpur today.
00:12Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Suhaile Zain said three raids were
00:17conducted in the city, leading to the arrest of 39 Africans and two Pakistanis, Barnama
00:23reported.
00:24He said the victim and those arrested were taken to the Brickfields District Police Headquarters
00:29for further action.
00:31Suhaile said the raids were carried out at two entertainment centres in Jalan Cangkat
00:35Bukit Bintang and one in Sri Hartamas.
00:39He also said many of the detained foreigners failed to produce passports or valid identification.
00:45The foreign nationals arrested were being investigated under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking
00:50in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act, as well as Section 55D, Section 151C
00:57and Section 61C of the Immigration Act, 1959.
