These were the scenes as protesters moved from the Metropole Hotel up to St John's Square in Blackpool.
One member of the public tells Lucinda Herbert that he is hoping the protest is peaceful, as he tries to get home through the blocked-off promenade.
The demonstration moved up to St John's Square, where the annual Rebellion Punk Festival was also taking place.
