00:00Fun, artist, actor, musician, director, you truly do it all, especially in Chromatica.
00:10How does it feel to finally be able to share this amazing film with the world?
00:15The way that this film was put together was designed to show the fans everything.
00:20The fashion, the art direction, the films that were shown, the beautiful hair and makeup
00:27was all a part of what Chromatica was all about.
00:32Your stage presence is legendary but when I'm watching it feels like you're performing for
00:38each person individually. What advice do you have for performers about how to
00:42cultivate personal connection when you're in a giant stadium?
00:46Be mindful that while the audience will be looking up to you,
00:51you have to make sure you're looking up to them too.
00:54I promise I'll always stand up for you too.
00:57My performances and my music are inspired by my life but they're also inspired by the life
01:03of the fans, a community that leads with love and creativity and imagination.
01:08Not only can I see but I can feel so much love in this room tonight.
01:18Pride in its most queer sense has been a big theme in all your work.
01:23How do you hope that this film is going to resonate with LGBTQ audiences in particular?
01:29The LGBTQ plus community is one of the most powerful artistic communities in the world.
01:36It's this community that has given birth to the way we think about art.
01:43I just hope that whoever watches it has a wonderful time.
01:48I hope that you smile and laugh and dance and I hope it is just all about you.
01:57Believe in yourself and love who you are.
02:03What does Chromatica mean to you and how has that shifted from
02:07album to tour and now to this film?
02:09The composition of the songwriting was one experience that was extremely thoughtful
02:16but filled with a lot of anxiety but the tour was a total liberation.
02:23It was like every faculty that I have when it comes to being
02:27an imaginative person just came back full throttle.
02:31Chromatica for me is an ending and a beginning at the same time.
02:36It feels so true to you which is such a gift to us fans.
02:40I would say your career has really been defined by constant reinvention.
02:44Was there something in the Chromatica ball tour
02:48that allowed you to explore a new side of yourself?
02:51I think the biggest challenge for me in reinvention is actually sometimes to slow down.
02:56Sometimes I want to transform so much that I am just like a loose cannon.
03:01All the fans know exactly what I'm talking about.
03:04And then other times I've taken reclusive breaks
03:08feeling like I can't show myself when I'm in between
03:12and I'm actually excited to be able to say that
03:15this tour helped me to understand that I am just always an artist.
03:23Being a creative person is so much how you see the world and what you choose to say.
03:30Everybody deserves the right to make choices about their own bodies.
03:34I get to be an artist every day and whatever my reinvention is is a part of that.
03:42Is there anything that you can hint to us fans about what we can expect next from you?
03:47I have just been in the studio all the time and I'm making a lot of music
03:55and it's just this like incredibly vast experience that I just feel so lucky that I get to have.
04:07I'm excited for Monsters to hear where I am now and be connecting on that level again.
04:13I want to thank you so much for making this film,
04:16for making music that we can dance to and cry to and connect with people over.
04:22It has saved my life and so many others.
04:25You're so sweet.
04:26Please keep creating and we will be here to cheer you on.
