Rolls-Royce Motor Cars produces some of the most desirable ultra-luxury cars, and the 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre Coupe is the newest addition to their lineup. The 2024 Spectre is the prestigious British brand’s first EV that moves the ultra-luxury automaker towards a new era.
Although it is built on the same platform as the flagship Phantom sedan and Cullinan SUV, unlike its siblings, the Spectre doesn’t house a massive V12 under its hood. It’s motivated by a dual-motor electric powertrain, capable of generating up to 577 horsepower and providing a maximum range of up to 291 miles. As evident from the specs, it is neither the most powerful nor the most efficient EV in the market. However, electric or not, it is a Rolls-Royce, and that quality and level of opulence can’t be matched by any other luxury competitor.
Get inside the 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre and you are treated to an uber-luxurious cabin strongly reminiscent of the Rolls-Royce Ghost. The only main differentiating factor is the upgraded, more modern-looking touchscreen, which also features an updated operating system and infotainment interface. The driver’s cockpit also feels familiar, with the ultra-comfy seats with lots of support and the large, rounded-off Rolls-Royce steering wheel.
The 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre is propelled by a dual-motor all-electric all-wheel-drive powertrain capable of generating 577 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The car weighs a massive 6,559 lbs and is endowed with a 102.0-kWh battery pack borrowed from the BMW i7.

00:00This is the 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre.
00:03Not only is it the newest model from Rolls-Royce,
00:09but it's the very first electrified Rolls-Royce.
00:12The design of the Rolls-Royce Spectre combines modern and classic.
00:16Modern technology and function, classic design.
00:20It is a two-door coupe. It has that sort of 1940s iconic coupe style to it.
00:26It has coach doors that are hinged in the rear.
00:29The Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, which retracts and pops back up.
00:34Another classic detail is the exterior and interior design.
00:38Our exterior is painted in chartreuse and black diamond.
00:42On the interior, while leather is standard, the colors and the specifications are not.
00:48Owners need to choose that.
00:49Altogether, the interior in our test model has about $20,000 worth of leather options.
00:56One of the magical features of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is this door.
01:01It's very wide and you're not going to be able to reach it to close it.
01:04Put your foot on the brake and it closes automatically.
01:08The interior of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is pretty classic Rolls-Royce.
01:12It's made of a number of different materials.
01:15So here we have the black and then we have peony pink here.
01:19The steering wheel in our test model is covered in grace white leather and black leather.
01:26And that grace white leather even covers the stock on the gear selector and the headlights and the windshield wipers.
01:35This is a wood finish.
01:36We have the classic round Rolls-Royce air vents here.
01:40You can push that to close it if you don't want it.
01:43Or you can pull that to make sure that the vent is open.
01:46There are buttons here that allow you to set whatever your favorites are.
01:51So these are unassigned right now.
01:53And then this one is what controls the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament.
02:01There are cup holders here, but if you don't want to look at them, you can actually retract that.
02:05And you'll have this panel with open-pore wood.
02:08On the center console here, this is our dial for the multimedia system.
02:14And I want you to notice, as I dial it, the Spirit of Ecstasy remains standing and at attention right there in the center.
02:22We also see something similar on the wheel caps.
02:25The Rolls-Royce logo never changes even when the wheels turn.
02:29The start button is over on the left.
02:31And then there's a B button right here on the steering wheel stock, and that is for battery mode.
02:38That's the only one-pedal driving option in this car, but it will help you to regenerate some of that energy to get more miles out of the battery.
02:47And notice how the seatbelt indicator and the seat indicator is pink, and then the hold indicator is green.
02:55These are all bespoke details of the Rolls-Royce Spectre.
02:58One of the most Rolls-Royce-esque experiences is having an assistant at your fingertips.
03:04So you just press the microphone button and Eleanor is there.
03:11One of the most iconic modern details in the Rolls-Royce is the starlight headliner.
03:16When you turn it on, it's as if you are under a star-filled sky.
03:21It's been so popular that Rolls-Royce actually took it a step further and added a starlight door panel on the doors, which our test model has.
03:30One classic detail that was not overlooked is this, the Rolls-Royce umbrella.
03:36Now, this is a little bit of an extra charge because you do have to pick your color, but this is a great thing to have when the weather is less than lovely.
03:49This is for the Rolls-Royce driver who really wants to be behind the wheel.
03:53While it's a two-door coupe, it does seat four, and the rear seat is quite lovely, but all the fun really is in the front seat.
04:00The electrified powertrain in the Rolls-Royce Spectre produces about 584 horsepower, which is really fast for a two-door coupe.
04:08And it has a range of about 265 miles, not the biggest range in any electric car, but it's fine for daily driving and short trips.
04:18You can take it to a DC fast charger where it should charge to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
04:24If you have a level two charger at home, it will charge overnight.
04:27Base price for the Rolls-Royce Spectre is $420,000.
04:31Our model with custom paint, the custom interior, the starlight door panels, and a few other things comes to $560,000.
04:41That might be a lot for some people to consider, but for those who really want the Rolls-Royce experience, they want the computer on wheels, and they have earned this achievement, it is well worth it.
