00:00I'm here for my mystery mutt.
00:01You're here for your mystery mutt?
00:03OK, well, we have definitely picked
00:05our favorite mutt for you.
00:06Turn around and close your eyes.
00:08This was my first time going in knowing nothing about the dog,
00:11none of their background.
00:13And this is Sunday.
00:15They surprised me with a 74-pound retriever
00:18mix named Sunday.
00:19Oh, you're so big and fluffy.
00:22You want to come home with us?
00:23I was shocked because that's the largest
00:25dog that I've ever fostered.
00:27I was super excited to try something new.
00:29Bye, Sunday!
00:30Bye, Lisa!
00:32The Muttville staff let me know that Sunday
00:34was a 12-year-old retriever.
00:36She had come from another shelter in the area
00:38where she was surrendered after her owner passed away.
00:42So I knew that she had had a rough couple of weeks.
00:45She was really ready to go into a foster home
00:48and just really be loved.
00:50Although she's 74 pounds, she thinks she's a chihuahua.
00:54She is just the sweetest soul.
00:56We have three senior chihuahuas.
00:58And she was so sweet and gentle with them.
01:02Are you a good dog?
01:03There is still such a stigma around senior dogs
01:07that they're just old and have health issues.
01:09Senior dogs need love, too.
01:11They have so much love to give.
01:13And a lot of times, senior dogs are the first to be euthanized
01:17just to make space.
01:24After three weeks of fostering Sunday,
01:27she did spend some time in a home with a family.
01:30And we found that she does amazing with kids.
01:38She would greet the kids every day after school
01:40with a huge smile on her face.
01:42She absolutely loves children of all ages
01:45and does really well with them.
01:51She's just such a lover.
01:52We did find that Sunday would not
01:54do well in a home with cats.
01:56Cats are not her favorite.
01:58So she would do best in a home with just dogs, no cats.
02:01But she would be great in a lot of different environments.
02:06As long as she has humans to love, she's going to be happy.
02:10We did discover that Sunday has some health issues.
02:13But she just has to take some pills every day.
02:15And it's really easy.
02:17She takes them no problem.
02:19Because we've been trying to find an adopter for her
02:21with no luck so far, we wanted to do something super special.
02:25So we took her on a little in-and-out trip.
02:33Wow, look what I got you.
02:36And of course, she absolutely loved it.
02:40Sunday deserves the best family that's
02:43going to spoil her every single day
02:46and just help her live her best life.
