00:00This is the big news from the DOJ, and it's still very new.
00:04Let's start with you, Usec March, the court's ruling on the two arrested members of the CPP-NPA.
00:11What is the detail of this, Usec?
00:13Ninia, two members of the CPP-NPA were found guilty, beyond reasonable doubt,
00:20in the illegal delivery of unregistered guns to Oriental Mindoro.

00:37were released from the Oriental Mindoro Regional Trial Court Branch 43

00:48and illegal transfer or registration of firearms.
00:52The Philippine Army arrested Lazada and Omentado last April
00:59in Barangay Santa Teresita, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.
01:03One rifle, submachine gun, improvised hand grenade, and two blasting caps were recovered from the suspects.
01:11Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulia was pleased with the court's decision
01:16and appointed the DOJ Task Force on Counterterrorism
01:20under the leadership of Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Peter L. Ong.
01:25According to the secret service, terrorism has no place in the country,
01:29especially under the current administration where peace and unity prevails in the society.
01:38And now, let's talk about POGO.
01:41We have an update from the DOJ regarding the cessation of these operations in the country.
01:48Yes, Nina.
01:49The Department of Justice will ensure that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive
01:56regarding the complete cessation of POGO hubs in the country before the end of the year.
02:03This is what Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulia will do
02:07after suspending the 60-day deadline of the Bureau of Immigration to foreign POGO workers
02:13who voluntarily left the country.
02:16According to Remulia, the DOJ will also follow the President's directive
02:20of not violating human rights and any existing local and international law.
02:28The government's law enforcement officers were also warned against abusing their duties
02:34that the DOJ will not hesitate in enforcing the law against them.
02:40It should be noted that President Marcos ordered the total ban of POGO
02:45in his third State of the Nation Address on July 22.
02:51And now, let's talk about the good news.
02:55Usec Marge, the DOJ is also part of the new Philippine Visayas Service Fair.
03:03I understand that this is one of the biggest Philippine Visayas Service Fairs.
03:11You're right, Nina.
03:12The Department of Justice is one in providing public services to our countrymen from the Eastern Visayas.
03:19This is part of the new Philippine Visayas Service Fair that was held at Leyte Normal University
03:25in Tacloban City, Leyte on August 2 and 3.
03:29It is a two-day service caravan that brings the government's primary services closer to the public.
03:36Under the leadership of the DOJ Action Center, led by your services,
03:41the Department of Justice and the Public Attorney's Office provided free legal advice,
03:46division of prosecutor's clearance, and referral to various branches of the government.
03:53The National Prosecution Service Region 8 carried out information dissemination activities
03:59regarding the Interagency Council Against Trafficking or IACUT,
04:03Board of Claims and Witness Protection Security and Benefits Program.
04:08Meanwhile, some of your attached agencies are also part of the DOJ
04:13that provided various front-line services such as NBI clearance and visa extensions
04:19and Land Registration Authority Help Desk.
04:22All right.
04:23You know, Sekhmarge, I can see your posts.
04:26You're very busy there at the DOJ Action Center.
04:29Yes.
04:30You're the one leading here at the DOJ Action Center.
04:33Yes, Nina.
04:34How is it?
04:35How are the people there in the Eastern Visayas?
04:40I understand.
04:41It's like thousands of people went to that service fair.
04:44Thousands of people actually attended our service fair in Taclo,
04:48but I think this is the biggest.
04:49You're correct about that.
04:51And the response of the people there is really overwhelming
04:54because they rarely have events like that.
04:58So they are very happy that aside from the other front-line services,
05:02we have free legal aid service, we also have prosecutor's clearance,
05:07and the most important thing for them is NBI clearance.
05:10Actually, I was going to say that NBI clearance is already a big thing
05:14when it comes to finding a job, etc.
05:16When we rendered legal aids, we had around 200 clients.
05:21But in NBI, it was thousands.
05:25Thousands?
05:26Yes.
05:27Can you see that?
05:28They don't have a record?
05:29You brought that?
05:30No, because NBI clearance is really required regularly.
05:35Because a lot of companies, especially if you're looking for a job,
05:38they require NBI clearance.
05:40So we always get NBI clearance.
05:45So we get a lot.
05:47They are really happy because these are more convenient
05:52and as you said, they don't go to that part of the country often.
05:56So the new Philippine Service Fair is very lively.
06:00And I hope you can go to more places.
06:03I hope so.
06:04Okay. Thank you very much, Marge, for sharing your updates from DOJ.
06:09You're welcome, Nina.
