00:00Thomas and the Big Bang
00:05Thomas is a cheeky little engine.
00:08He likes to have fun with his friends.
00:11He likes playing hide and peep with Percy.
00:18And he enjoys joking with James.
00:25One day, Thomas was fitted with a brand new whistle.
00:29The whistle gleamed, and Thomas beamed.
00:36And he blew it all day long.
00:39He blew it softly, and he blew it loudly.
00:44He blew it in stations, and he blew it in Misty Valley.
00:52Thomas thought it the most wonderful whistle he had ever had.
01:00Thomas puffed into the wharf with a train of empty trucks.
01:05The thin controller was there.
01:08Thomas, he said, the narrow gauge engines are bringing bricks, flour and timber.
01:14They must be loaded into your trucks by tea time.
01:18The thin controller left.
01:20Thomas felt very happy, so he blew his new whistle loudly.
01:27Rheneas was surprised.
01:30He jumped and biffed into his trucks.
01:33Skarloey and Sir Handel laughed.
01:37Even Rheneas thought it was funny.
01:40That was fun, tooted Thomas.
01:43Now he wanted to play more jokes and have more fun.
01:48So Thomas chuffed off to look for another engine to peep.
01:55Later, Rusty puffed into the wharf.
01:59He was shunting trucks full of bright red bricks.
02:03They were to be unloaded into Thomas's empty trucks.
02:07But Thomas wanted to have more fun.
02:10He rolled up behind Rusty.
02:13Rheneas and Skarloey held their puff.
02:16Thomas blew his new whistle peep.
02:20Rusty jumped and he biffed his trucks.
02:24Rusty was covered in red brick dust.
02:28Skarloey and Rheneas both laughed.
02:32Thomas thought it was tremendous fun.
02:36Rusty thought it was fun too.
02:38Now he wanted to join in.
02:40Can't catch me, hooted Rusty.
02:43And he steamed around the wharf.
02:46Thomas puffed after him.
02:48Everyone was laughing and having fun.
02:52But no one collected the bricks.
02:55Then Thomas had another idea.
02:59Sir Handel will be arriving with the trucks of flour soon, he tooted.
03:05Why don't we all peep him at once?
03:07The little engines were excited.
03:11And they all found hiding places.
03:16As Sir Handel puffed into the wharf, there was nobody to be seen.
03:21Now, Thomas cried, he blew his new whistle as loudly as he could.
03:28The little engines blew their whistles too.
03:30Sir Handel biffed his trucks in surprise.
03:34Flour flew up into the air like a great white cloud.
03:38You look like a ghost, laughed Rusty.
03:41Whoa, laughed Sir Handel.
03:44Look at me, I'm a ghost.
03:47And he steamed away.
03:49Soon all the engines were chasing each other.
03:54And no one was doing any work.
03:57Thomas had another idea.
03:59Peter Sam is on his way, let's peep him as well.
04:03And the little engines agreed this was a very good idea.
04:08Peter Sam trundled into the wharf.
04:12Thomas got ready with his whistle.
04:16The little engines got ready too.
04:19Beep!
04:21Peter Sam shot forward.
04:25He bashed into his flatbed so hard they burst through the buffers,
04:30smashed through oil drums stacked on the wharf
04:33and splashed into the canal.
04:41Oh my, cried the little engines.
04:44Cinders and ashes, cried Thomas.
04:48The thin controller arrived at the wharf.
04:51What has been going on here?
04:53He said sternly.
04:54There are bricks all over the rails, flour all over the warehouse
04:59and now timber is in the canal.
05:02I'm sorry sir, wished Thomas sadly.
05:06It's all my fault.
05:08I just wanted to play jokes and have fun.
05:11The thin controller was very cross.
05:14You must clear up this mess at once, he cried.
05:17And your trucks must be loaded by tea time.
05:23As soon as the workmen had reloaded the bricks,
05:26Thomas started to work.
05:31But the little engines still wanted to play.
05:34They wanted to wheeze the dust and flour at each other.
05:38No more jokes, whistled Thomas.
05:41We have work to do.
05:43And he shunted the trucks into a siding.
05:48New trucks of flour were now ready
05:51and Thomas took them to the sidings as well.
05:56At last the workmen had the timber wagons ready
06:02and Thomas shunted them into the siding too.
06:06Finally, Thomas had one long train of bricks, flour and timber
06:13and it wasn't even tea time.
06:16The thin controller came back, he saw Thomas
06:20but Thomas was hiding his trucks.
06:23Where are your trucks, said the thin controller crossly.
06:26Thomas smiled.
06:28He was playing a trick.
06:30He puffed forward slowly.
06:33Here they are, sir, he whistled happily,
06:36loaded up and ready to go.
06:39The little engines laughed
06:42and the thin controller laughed too.
06:45Thomas, he said, that was a good joke.
06:48You are a really funny engine.
06:51And Thomas puffed happily away.
