00:05It was a busy day on the island of Sodor.
00:11All the engines were working hard.
00:15They wanted to finish their work as quickly as possible.
00:20That night a shooting star was going to flash across the sky.
00:26Anyone who saw it could make a wish.
00:30None of the engines had ever seen a shooting star before.
00:36As the sun started to set, the engines were watching the darkening sky.
00:44They were thinking about their wishes.
00:48I'm going to wish to be grander, huffed Gordon.
00:52I'm going to wish to be redder, snorted James.
00:57I'm going to wish to pull the mail forever and ever, peeped Percy happily.
01:03Thomas didn't know what to wish for.
01:07Never to have to work with diesel again, he thought.
01:12Or never wearing my snowplough.
01:16Or never having to pull smelly fish, he tooted.
01:20The Fat Controller arrived with some engineers.
01:25The power station has broken down. There are no lights on the island, he boomed.
01:32Thomas, you must take the engineers to repair it straight away.
01:37Be sure to go the quickest way, he added.
01:41Look out for the shooting star, Thomas, peeped Percy, and remember to make a wish.

01:55The power station was on the far side of the island.
02:00Thomas puffed happily along.
02:03He made sure to take the quickest way.
02:07But then, he came to a long dark tunnel.
02:12If I go through the tunnel, I won't be able to see the sky.
02:17Then I might miss the shooting star, he wished.
02:22So Thomas puffed back up to the junction.
02:32And he took a different route.
02:38This isn't the fastest way, he chuffed.
02:41But if I puff hard enough, I'll be at the power station just as quickly.
02:47But Thomas wasn't at the power station just as quickly.
02:52He was at Henry's Forest instead.
02:55The trees were tall, and the branches blocked out the sky.
03:01If I go through Henry's Forest, he wished, I won't see the shooting star.
03:11So Thomas took a different route.
03:17He puffed around Henry's Forest.
03:22His journey was getting longer and longer.
03:30Thomas came to the cutting through Shem Valley.
03:34The track through the valley was the fastest way to the power station.
03:39But the valley was deep, and the cutting very high.
03:44If I go through the cutting, I won't see the shooting star, he wished.
03:50So Thomas backed up and went another way.
03:57Thomas's journey was getting even longer, and it was even later.
04:03And with no electricity on the island, Sodor was darker than ever.
04:12At Tidmouth Sheds, the engines were all still thinking about their wishes.
04:19All except Percy.
04:22He was worried about his friend.
04:25Thomas should be back by now, he peeped sadly.
04:28Where is he?
04:30But the engines didn't know where Thomas was.
04:34And neither did Thomas.
04:38He could hardly see anything.
04:41He didn't know whether to puff left, or right, or up, or down.
04:53Now he wasn't thinking about the shooting star, he was thinking about the power station.
04:59If I had taken the quickest way, the lights would be fixed by now, cried Thomas, and I wouldn't be lost.
05:10Cinders and ashes, I wish I could see.
05:16Suddenly, something flashed across the night sky.
05:22It was the shooting star.
05:25It shot across the sky like the brightest rocket that had ever been.
05:32It lit up the island from coast to coast.
05:37Now Thomas could see the power station.
05:40My wish came true, cried Thomas. Thank you star.
05:46And he steamed off as fast as he could.
05:49Thomas arrived at the power station.
05:52The engineers quickly got to work.
05:55Soon the power station was fixed, and the lights came on all over Sodor.
06:09Thomas puffed happily home.
06:13He passed through bright and sunny Sodor.
06:17He passed through brightly lit stations.
06:27As he pulled into Tidmouth, his friends were talking about their wishes.
06:34Gordon said he felt grander.
06:37James was sure he was redder.
06:41Percy was just happy to see his friend.
06:44I wished you would come home safely, he peeped.
06:49Thank you Percy, tooted Thomas.
