00:00How innovation and new technologies can feed and support the desire to know, and how artificial intelligence can help to improve the world.
00:14These are the central themes of the intervention with which Maximo Ibarra,
00:18Delegate Administrator of Engineering, Digital Transformation Company,
00:23Leader in Italy, closed in Rome Philosophies under the stars,
00:27the event promoted by Rome Capital during the evening entitled Minds, at the Palatine Stadium in Rome.
00:34For Ibarra, technology and human thought are closely linked.
00:39With technology and AI we are going to influence the quality of people's lives,
00:45we are going to influence their well-being, we are going to influence the wealth they will produce.
00:50So all these aspects have important implications on the centrality of man.
00:54Very often we also talk about artificial intelligence as a substitute for the individual,
01:00in reality it is not like that, it is an amplification of its capabilities,
01:04an amplification of the way of work that must be more and more collaborative between the human being and the machine.
01:11In this phase of rapid technological transformation, the human factor is essential,
01:15because artificial intelligence will never be able to replace the human being,
01:19but it will tend to amplify its knowledge and its capabilities.
01:23When we talk about substitution, we will rather talk about people who use artificial intelligence
01:28who will replace individuals who will not use artificial intelligence.
01:32This on the one hand, and on the other, this collaboration seems stronger between individuals and machines,
01:38which will lead to an incredible volume of discovery and innovation.
01:44So it is never a substitution, but it is a great collaboration.
01:47We are talking about co-pilot, which is not just a software,
01:51but it is precisely the ability to do things together,
01:53often delegating the most repetitive activities to the machines or those that can be automated.
01:58Multiple concrete benefits that artificial intelligence will bring into our lives,
02:04also taking into account aspects not to be underestimated,
02:07such as regulation, regulations and limitations to be imposed on technology.
02:13And from the point of view of how to deal with emergencies that can be natural calamities,
02:17rather than other emergencies such as climate change,
02:21or also in the field of education or rather in the field of health.
02:26So the ability or the possibility of being able to discover therapies,
02:29which until recently it was impossible to find as a solution.
02:34All these changes will come in a very short time horizon
02:38and will clearly give a huge boost to our well-being in general.
