00:00Now, I love our producer Joe Frizzo, who is pulling double duty today, really triple duty
00:08downstairs and behind the scenes, technical directing the show, producing the show on
00:13the fly.
00:14But the headline for this next graphic, brother, you can't be putting this stuff on live national
00:20television.
00:21Pats pull out the Patriots out of the running for the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes.
00:28They were involved in perhaps trade pursuits for the disgruntled wide receiver in San Francisco,
00:35one of the rumored teams that was in the running to maybe trade for Brandon Aiyuk.
00:40They had had conversations with San Francisco, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, but now
00:45no longer in the running to trade for Brandon Aiyuk.
00:49What do you make of this situation, DRS?
00:53This situation is kind of odd for me to start out with, because we've heard about Brandon
00:58Aiyuk being upset with the San Francisco 49ers for months and months and months on end, right
01:03from the Super Bowl all the way up till now.
01:04So you figured you say, all right, we're in the Super Bowl window.
01:07We want to win a Super Bowl.
01:09We got to keep our best players happy.
01:10He's an integral part of this team.
01:12But they sort of let this fester where he's not practicing and now contacting other teams
01:16and probably getting excited about leaving San Francisco to go to the other teams.
01:20But the joke for me always was like, if he went to the Steelers, OK, Russell Wilson's
01:24a quarterback, you know, Justin Fields, there's a legitimate chance that they could be a solid
01:28franchise this year.
01:29I'm not talking about Super Bowl, but just playing in a good division.
01:32And you're certainly going to get your fair share of looks in that offense.
01:35Or if you're going to, let's just say the Cleveland Browns saying, you know what, Deshaun
01:38Watson, hopefully he can turn it on at this point and be that quarterback always thought
01:41he would be.
01:42I'm going to be an integral part of a very good football team.
01:44I think that can make a run into the playoffs and do some damage.
01:47The Patriots never made any sense for me because there's the timing of all this.
01:51Do you always want to improve your team?
01:53I understand the easy answer is yes.
01:55But the timing of when you want to improve your team, if you're looking at the Patriots
01:59this year and let's just say, and it could still happen where they maybe jump into the
02:03process, then let's just say in 45 minutes, Brandon Ike got traded to the Patriots.
02:07We break the news and I go, their win total is the same.
02:10They stink.
02:11I mean, it's just it doesn't make any difference.
02:13But he could be a difference maker in Pittsburgh and a difference maker, obviously, if he was
02:17going to the Cleveland Browns.
02:18So when I see like Brandon Ike's availability doesn't look like he's going to be with the
02:22New England Patriots.
02:23I don't understand why they were in on this.
02:24They should just be tanking this season once again, building up those assets, saving their
02:29money for when they believe they can start to be a competitor in the AFC East.
02:33That's when you go and get these legitimate players.
02:35You're always looking for better players.
02:37Again, I understand that.
02:38I just never thought it made any sense whatsoever to the Patriots.
