00:00The long offseason drama circulating San Francisco with wide receiver Brandon Ayuk has now officially
00:09reached its destination.
00:11Ayuk will remain by the bay with a very large new contract, signing a four-year $120 million
00:19deal yesterday with the 49ers, $30 million per year, one of six wideouts now in the $30
00:26million club around the National Football League.
00:29DRS, the offseason timeline is too confusing to even try to detail here for Brandon Ayuk,
00:34but he was unhappy.
00:36He requested a trade officially.
00:37He was reaching out to his former college teammate, Jayden Daniels, from their days
00:41together at Arizona State, saying, love what you guys are doing with the Commanders.
00:45He was a hold-in at camp for the 49ers, but was trying to get the deal done.
00:50It is now a done deal.
00:52What is your reaction?
00:54All roads led to this.
00:55And if you're following along here on the early line, we told you multiple times, Brandon
00:59Ayuk is probably going to wind up being a 49er, because why?
01:02It was in the best interest of Brandon Ayuk and also the San Francisco 49ers.
01:06Just have to work out those details.
01:07I wasn't buying into, oh, no, C.D. Lamb and Justin Jefferson getting these big deals.
01:12There's no way they can sign him, because here's what was going to happen.
01:15He wasn't going to play this season.
01:17Like, he was going to hold out.
01:18It's either, A, you traded him or paid him here.
01:21And once we saw the tea leaves bend, about what, three to four weeks ago, we're like,
01:25hey, we got deals in place with the Washington Commanders, with the New England Patriots,
01:29with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and with the Cleveland Browns.
01:32Pick one of those teams.
01:33We like the compensation back, and apparently, they're going to pay you the money that you're
01:36worth.
01:37But also thinking back, the 49ers are a smart organization.
01:40Go out there.
01:41Find what you're worth.
01:42We don't have to trade you if we don't want to.
01:44And if those four teams work out contracts, we'll then measure those contracts up against
01:48what we have and see if we can come to an agreement.
01:51Now, the interesting part overall in this negotiation process, which I know Adam Schaeffler
01:55was a little bit salty yesterday by saying, this deal has been around since August the
01:5910th.
02:00Nothing has changed.
02:01He just waited three weeks.
02:02So part of me goes, man, that's a smart man, because there's not a single football player
02:06on this earth from playing peewee football, middle school football, high school football,
02:11college, or pros that's like, you know what?
02:13Camp is finally here.
02:14This is so exciting.
02:15Shout out to the guys that can make money and miss all of that practice time.
02:20Now, granted, you want to be honing your skills, getting in with the boys, getting your work
02:23in, getting ready for the season, but nobody likes camp.
02:25So Brandon Ive got everything he wanted.
02:28End missed training camp.
02:29That sounds like the biggest win of all time right now, Ben.
