00:00I laud Elliot Wolfe. I give him credit for this was a guy he pursued all summer. If we were to
00:06believe all the reports that are out there from the draft on, this is a guy the Patriots had been
00:11interested in. And I'd said it at the start of the show because I really believe it. It's not like
00:15John Lynch woke up two days ago and called Elliot Wolfe and was like, okay, we'll agree to that
00:20trade. Let's start this process. This has been going on for a while. I think the disappointment
00:26from the Patriots end, and I have no knowledge on this, but let's just use some deductive
00:31reasoning. If they've been pursuing this player, it also needed to get to a breaking point with
00:36the 49ers to where you could even make the contract offer to the guy. So you could back
00:42channel if you're Elliot Wolfe all you want while the 49ers own the player. Hey, listen,
00:47we'd be willing to give the guy this. And if that information got to the agent and then it gets to
00:53the breaking point, now that's the deal that gets shopped around. So I can understand Elliot Wolfe
00:58feeling used and being like, you know what? We made the offer, but we're out. So it also takes
01:04the power away from the agent. That's the other part of this. Like now Elliot Wolfe has kind of
01:09stuck it to Iuke and his people. Iuke and his people know there are other teams that are on
01:14the hook, but maybe the biggest offer is now officially off the table. So it makes it tougher
01:21for that agent to deal with the remaining teams. He's a crazy thing about this. And I saw Andrew
01:26Brandt reference this as well. Whenever they, whenever a player says it's not about the money,
01:35it's always about the money. In this case, it shouldn't be about, you know, it's just reverse.
01:43If it were just about the money, we would already be saying Brandon and Iuke is going to be traded
01:48to New England, but it's the money's close enough. Oh, and I get my cake and eat it too.
01:53See, I, the reason I mentioned Pittsburgh yesterday is because I really think that's
01:56where Iuke wants to end up. Yes. To me, this is like, it actually isn't about the money
02:01because they gave him the money. Usually it's not about the money I'm signing anyways,
02:05but it's not true. This one, they gave him the money, they're giving him everything.
02:09And he's like, nah, I don't want it. Like it's, it's really is kind of like just an overall
02:14reality about where the Patriots are at.
