00:00She was trembling so much and I was so heartbroken.
00:07Someone alerted me about a dog.
00:11She was living by a dumpster. People were trying to foot her.
00:14When I was approaching her, all I say is,
00:16Hey, hey baby, how you doing?
00:21She was so frozen with fear that she wouldn't walk.
00:24So I pick her up and I put her inside the car.
00:30Once we got home, her fear was so deep that she wouldn't move,
00:34even when she needed to go potty.
00:36So for two weeks, I had to carry her like a baby.
00:40You ready for the McDonald's?
00:42I'm like, I need to make her happy somehow.
00:44I need to make her feel like going into rides is something happy.
00:50So I start taking her to McDonald's.
00:52Yes, can I have one cheeseburger, no condiments, just the patty and the cheese?
00:58When kids don't want to do something, you say,
01:00Hey, you know what? We're going to go to McDonald's if you do it.
01:02So I'm like, okay, you know what?
01:04I'm going to trick her into getting into the car ride and she's going to get McDonald's
01:08and she is going to start liking it.
01:10Go, go.
01:12You want your hamburger?
01:16Look at this, mama.

01:20And I just give her a bite so she knows it's a treat.
01:23I don't give her the whole burger.

01:28Coco Bean took probably like 10 rides before she knew and she started looking forward to it.
01:36When I finally saw Coco Bean opening up and being so happy, jumping in the car,
01:41it just made me happy too.
01:42And I share a hamburger with her and we're both happy in the car.
01:46Is that Coco Bean?
01:49I was just looking for a dog to adopt.
01:52I had just been through a divorce, so I was in an empty house, which was weird.
01:57And I thought a dog might be a good companion.
02:01I saw Laura in DNA Rescue's video for Coco Bean and I was just like, this is the perfect dog for me.
02:08She was an older dog and it looked like she had been through so much.
02:17She acclimated very quickly.

02:25Recently, we celebrated Coco Bean's two-year gotcha day.
02:30And since she loves McDonald's and it was such a pivotal part of her being comfortable,
02:39I thought it would be nice and a tribute to Laura if we took her to McDonald's.
