00:00Come on, tell me all about it.
00:01We woke up one Saturday morning, and his legs
00:04were just completely bent in.
00:07Kobe was dumped with his siblings
00:10in a pile of trash cans.
00:12We told Tales of Hope Dog Rescue just
00:14to give us whatever puppy was most critical,
00:17and that was Kobe.
00:19Well, good morning.
00:22Good morning.
00:24Hello.
00:26He had the worst case of mange.
00:28He had almost no hair on his body.
00:31He was covered in scabs and open sores.
00:33Oh, look at you eating on your own.
00:37My husband and I took turns staying up with him,
00:39trying to keep him warm, giving some snuggles.
00:42Kobe slept really hard for the first two weeks.
00:45He was severely malnourished.
00:47Say, I just had a bath, and I'm feeling so much better.
00:51And then we started to see his little personality come out,
00:53which was really exciting.
00:55Hello.
00:57Hello.
00:58It was really heartbreaking to see this baby fighting
01:01so hard for his life.
01:03About a month after we had Kobe, his skin
01:06was clear enough for him to leave his quarantine
01:09and to actually start to interact with other dogs.
01:13Something to say?
01:14What you say, Kobe?
01:15We woke up one Saturday morning, and his legs
01:18were just completely bent in.
01:20And unfortunately, he got a really, really bad case
01:22of rickets.
01:23It was really scary.
01:25We were able to take him over to an orthopedic specialist, who
01:28was able to look at his legs, and then
01:30decided to split them to help support his legs
01:33while they were healing.
01:38What are you doing?
01:40Whoa.
01:41The splints were hard on Kobe, like they'd
01:43be hard on any puppy.
01:45But through it all, he was just so happy.
01:47And his tail was wagging.
01:49And his really just joyous personality came out.
01:52Oh, my goodness.
01:55He got cleared from the splints almost exactly two months
01:59after we got him.
02:00And he took off running.
02:02It was like he knew that he was done,
02:04that he could just be a puppy.
02:06And it took him a minute to realize
02:08that he was in the free and clear.
02:10But then he just took off and started playing.
02:12I did cry a little bit.
02:14He had been through a lot in that last two months with us.
02:18Just sort of seeing that independence come out,
02:20that's been really cool.
02:23Huge transformations.
02:24And when we look at that picture we took of him
02:26on the first day.
02:28Can you sit?
02:29Good job.
02:31To two months later, and he looks like a real puppy,
02:33it's just mind boggling that he made
02:36such a drastic transformation in just two months.
02:40The best home for Kobe would be one, definitely with the yard.
02:43He likes to run around.
02:45Definitely with other dogs, because he
02:47absolutely loves other dogs.
02:49He's been kid tested.
02:51He does great with kids.
02:53I work from home, and he's a great work from home buddy.
03:00Kobe.
03:00Kobe, Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.
03:02Hey, handsome.
03:04What are you doing?
