The trial of Muhammad Faisal Hamzah, a former minister’s son and freelance consultant facing a charge of accepting RM100,000 in bribes, will be heard before a new Sessions Court judge.

00:09who's facing a charge of accepting 100,000 ringgit in bribes, will be heard before a
00:13new Sessions Court judge.
00:15During proceedings on Thursday, Judge Rosina Ayob, who has been presiding over the case,
00:20announced that she will be transferred on August 15 and a new judge will take over the
00:24proceedings.
00:26She added that the court has scheduled August 29 for re-mention of the case.
00:30Forty-year-old Muhammad Faisal, who's a freelance consultant, was charged with accepting the
00:35bribe from Izmir Abdul Hamid as an inducement to use his influence to have high-tech Padu
00:41Berhad appoint Syarikat Rimba Merpati and Syarikat Permai Solutions as its marketing
00:47consultants.
00:48The offence was allegedly committed at an office lot in a shopping mall at Jalan Dutama
00:53Satu in March 2018.
00:56He faces a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine of 10,000 ringgit or five times the
01:02amount of the bribe, whichever is higher, upon conviction.
