00:00All right, let's go ahead and hand
00:01things over now to meteorologist
00:03Daniel Bonds for our news.
00:0419 weather impact alert day.
00:05Good morning Whitney.
00:06Good morning you guys.
00:07Here's some of the things
00:08you need to know for today.
00:10We do expect some heavy downpours.
00:11Possible flash flooding
00:12through this evening,
00:13so keep that in mind.
00:15The flash flooding is still possible.
00:16The flash flood watch continues for most
00:18of the Midlands until tomorrow morning.
00:20Don't drive or walk through flooded areas.
00:22We talked about that earlier and here's
00:24a few more things you do need to know.
00:27For today, Tropical Storm Daniel
00:28today Tropical Storm Debbie's moving
00:30very slowly and there could be some.
00:33Impassable roadways as that rain does
00:35fall and that potential for some
00:37flooding downpours. Here's the 8 AM
00:39or 5 AM advisory does have winds
00:41of 50 mph gusts up to 65,
00:44still moving very slowly at this point
00:46at about 5 mph towards the Northeast.
00:48It is going to pick up some
00:51forward motion though.
00:52It's going to quickly move out of
00:54our area by tomorrow morning.
00:56It's up in North Carolina near
00:58the Virginia line, so basically.
00:592 o'clock Friday morning you see it there,
01:02and at that point it will be probably
01:04considered a tropical depression.
01:06At that point,
01:07still do have this flash flood warning
01:09in effect for parts of Kershaw County.
01:11And Lee counties until 6 o'clock.
01:13So another 45 minutes or so for that warning.
01:16We do have the rain still rotating in
01:18in association with Tropical Storm Debbie.
01:20Some heavy to moderate patches of
01:22rainfall still moving across parts
01:24of Midlands and that's going to be
01:27the trend as we do go throughout your day.
01:30At least most of the day will
01:31continue to watch the winds,
01:33but as we've been talking about winds,
01:35not really that much of a factor.
01:36Don't believe there'll be a factor today either,
01:39but if they do pick up a little bit,
01:40that could cause some issues because
01:42we've had a lot of rainfall and
01:44we're going to continue to get at
01:46least some more rain, especially.
01:47In the northern half of the Midlands,
01:48anywhere from maybe up to 2 inches.
01:51Northern half of Midlands could get
01:53some isolated areas a little bit
01:55more than that. 3 o'clock.
01:56The rain starts to break up a little.
01:58Certainly great news there.
01:59Here we are at 545 this afternoon.
02:01Still a few stray showers and then
02:03as Debbie continues to lift on out of here,
02:06our weather will improve for your Friday.
02:09As far as rainfall totals are concerned,
02:10higher amounts in Fairfield County,
02:12maybe in parts of Kershaw,
02:13rest of the Midlands,
02:15lower amounts,
02:15maybe another inch and a half or so.
02:18In Columbia,
02:19high temperatures today still below normal,
02:21right around 80 degrees tomorrow.
02:23It is going to be hot.
02:24It's going to be humid as Debbie moves on out.
02:26Temperatures rebound into the upper
02:28night or should say low 90s.
02:30Heat index values probably around 109.
02:33Hot, humid weather of the weekend,
02:34with small chances for pop up showers.
02:36And storms.
02:37There's your seven day forecast.
