00:00The U.S. Federal Grand Jury in Florida charged the former chairman of the Commission on Elections, Andres Bautista.
00:08This was because he received a bribe from a company that provided a voting machine during the 2016 elections.
00:15According to the statement of the U.S. Justice Department,
00:18Bautista is facing a conspiracy to commit money laundering and three international laundering of monetary instruments.
00:27One of the co-founders of Smartmatic, Roger Alejandro Pinate-Martinez, was also charged.
