00:00Good morning, happy Saturday. It is a bit of a grey, cloudy and damp start for some of us today,
00:06but things are brightening up and they are going to hot up as we go through this weekend.
00:11But for the time being we do have this frontal feature across parts of England and Wales
00:16and it's this that's led to the relatively grey start for some of us.
00:19There will be some rain spilling its way in, particularly across parts of Wales, south-west England.
00:24Some of this could be a little bit heavy over the higher ground
00:27All of that cloud, that murkiness is going to drift its way eastwards
00:30so even if you're starting on a bright note across eastern parts
00:33it is going to turn cloudier and possibly a bit damp later on.
00:37Slightly different story further north there, across northern England, northern Ireland
00:40lots of bright sunny spells, even into southern Scotland too.
00:43But further north quite a few more showers, one or two showers possible elsewhere
00:47but they're going to be mostly across the northern half of Scotland
00:51and some of them could be on the heavy side.
00:53There will still be some brisk winds here, perhaps not as strong as yesterday
00:57but nonetheless a bit blustery, so pushing those showers through relatively quickly.
01:02In the north temperatures are going to be a little bit higher than yesterday
01:06and feeling it with the slightly lighter winds
01:08so quite warm in any bright or sunny spells in between those showers.
01:11Further south we do have some warmer, hotter air coming in
01:15and so you'd think temperatures will be quite a bit higher already
01:18but because there's a fair bit of cloud around it's not going to feel that much warmer
01:22perhaps a little bit more humid than it has been of late.
01:25A bit of cloud still and some outbreaks of rain to come as we go through the evening
01:30and to start the night as well, a lot of the cloud breaking up
01:34but some murkiness, some low cloud and some drizzly rain
01:37feeding into parts of the south-southwest as we go through the early hours of Sunday.
01:41Further north lots of clear skies though across the far north of Scotland
01:45still some more showers continuing here
01:47though these are starting to ease as we go into Sunday itself.
01:51Where we have that cloud towards the south temperatures won't drop a huge amount
01:54but the clear skies mean we could see temperatures falling a little bit
01:57so some places, particularly away from the towns and cities
02:00just about getting into single figures so a bit fresh for some of us.
02:04Through Sunday then yes we have some murkiness, some low clouds
02:07some drizzly rain across parts of the south first thing
02:10and some of that cloud is going to shift a bit further northwards
02:13so central parts of England and Wales turning a bit cloudier for a time
02:17but a lot of this cloud should actually break up
02:19and I'm expecting a decent amount of fine sunny weather for many of us.
02:23Further north a lot of sunshine though some high level clouds
02:26turning the sunshine a bit hazy
02:28and for the far north of Scotland any showers through the morning will clear away
02:32so turning dry here.
02:33So by the time we get to the afternoon it is looking mostly dry, mostly bright
02:37and a good deal of sunshine around for most of us
02:40and with that, with the sunshine and some hotter air coming in
02:44I'm expecting temperatures to be quite a bit higher than they have been of late.
02:47Good chance that we'll get to the very high 20s towards the south
02:5028, 29 possibly 30 Celsius perhaps
02:53and even further north we're looking at low to mid 20s
02:57so feeling pretty warm indeed.
02:59As we go later on on Sunday there is going to be some heavy thundery rain
03:03pushing in particularly towards north-western parts
03:06but some uncertainty as to how far east this is going to reach
03:10because there could be some heavy downpours in association with this
03:14we do need to be aware that there could be some impacts with hail, lightning
03:18the intense thunder, some heavy downpours
03:21all possibly causing some problems as we go into next week.
03:24As well as that though we do have some hot air
03:27yes there is a front coming in from the west
03:30so that's going to start to bring something a bit fresher to west and north-western parts
03:34but particularly towards the east-southeast of England
03:37Monday is likely to be the hottest day of this hot spell
03:41and that's when we could get temperatures quite widely in the low 30s
03:4432, 33 possibly even a little bit higher than this
03:47and it's with this hot air, the high humidity
03:50all of these perfect ingredients for some thunderstorms to kick off.
03:53With the hot and perhaps thundery weather to come through this weekend
03:58and into the beginning of next week
04:00it's definitely worth making sure you're up to date with the forecast.
04:03Bye bye.
