00:00on the national football league we had a conversation of a long-standing trend in
00:10the NFL 19 of the last 21 years a team that has finished dead last in a
00:15division one season has won the divisional crown the very next year how
00:20about the opposite trend a team finishing in first making its way down
00:24to the basement and finishing in last we start in the NFC here were the
00:30divisional champs from a year ago in the NFC South Baker Mayfield leading the
00:35Buccaneers to the third consecutive divisional title we know the trend in
00:39the NFC East that we will discuss the Cowboys taking home their second NFC
00:44East crown in the last three seasons the Lions winning a divisional championship
00:48for the first time in three decades and the Niners dominant in the NFC West with
00:52a 12 and 5 record DRS of the four divisional champs around the NFC from a
00:58season ago in your estimation who has the best chance of now finishing dead
01:03last in 2024 yeah this is a much tougher question because you're looking at some
01:08quality teams here but also outside of you just saying Ben like well I think
01:12the Cowboys will be in dead last because Dax gonna get a hurt see lambs not gonna
01:15play Michael Parsons gonna sit this one out they're gonna fire their head coach
01:19you see where I'm going with this it's hard to say to yourself starting with
01:22the Buccaneers who won the division last year if there was one team that
01:26maybe could end up on the bottom as opposed to top it probably would be the
01:30Buccaneers but also you knew that you do know what that means that means the
01:34Carolina Panthers will be a better team than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers entering
01:37into the season which makes it tough again outside of what Baker Mayfield
01:41goes off the rails he gets hurt God when it's hurt Evan gets hurt you can't play
01:44that game so it is tough the Cowboys at 12 and 5 we know you can basically print
01:49the script every year without devastating injuries the Cowboys are
01:51talented they have a solid quarterback they have a lot of weapons there's no
01:55reason that they would finish below the Giants or let's just say the washing
01:59commanders without injuries take a look at the Lions now the Lions might be one
02:03that's interesting because again I'm not just being a contrarian saying I'm gonna
02:06go against the Lions because they were good last year they can't be good this
02:09that doesn't make any sense they are talented they kept their
02:12offensive coordinator let's just say Ben Johnson moved on maybe you could say
02:15like who he was the catalyst maybe to that football team being so good on
02:19offense maybe we don't have the trust in the new offensive coordinator but he's
02:22back there Jared golf got a new deal you know I'm gonna Ross st. Brown got a new
02:26deal that is a team on the rise it's hard to believe that they would finish
02:29last but there's a lot of good football teams in that division and if you're
02:33just writing off the Minnesota Vikings outside of if JJ McCarthy starts or
02:37maybe you don't get a good season out of anybody else at quarterback you might be
02:40saying to yourself that's the team that should be in last place but again
02:43there's a lot of talent there the 49ers what are you expecting here Trent
02:47Williams to sit out I you get straighted away Christian McCaffrey's calf never
02:51heals they wind up in last place this is a lot of comfort to the sniper if you
02:54said Donnie you had to go with one team here you can't cop out and say I don't
02:59like any of them I guess it would be the Buccaneers but again that means
03:03Carolina needs to finish ahead of them which is going to be a tall task
