00:00Dolphins, uh, back at it tonight, preseason opens up against the Atlanta Falcons seven
00:06o'clock Mike McDaniel on to a playing. It sounds like he's not a keen on that. I do.
00:13I expect from past scenarios that you're going to be surprised with a, as, as you put it,
00:25it would be a deviation from the last two years. Um, I don't think you're gonna be surprised.
00:36Wow. Still going. Oh yeah. Dramatic effect. Leroy. As much as I like Mike McDaniel. Damn.
00:50What do you mean? That was a whole bunch of talking without saying a damn thing. That's
00:55a whole lot of words for no.
00:59I thought that that Marcos looped the video again. So we have, uh, we have fixed his loop
01:10frog problem. Fairly enough. I will say we lashed out last time and I, by we, I mean
01:15Jamie and he did not, he did not loop the last time. Mike McDaniel just looped himself.
01:21I'm telling you, he does that runs out of words, but that was just a dramatic pause
01:26from him. That was, that was a new one. I actually have, I haven't heard him do that
01:31one yet. That was, yeah. I know he's very careful with his words, but Oh wow. Gotta
01:37be extra careful. Do I expect from past scenarios that you're going to be surprised with a,
01:47as, as you'd put it, it would be a deviation from the last two years. Um, I don't think
01:58you'd be surprised. What are we not being surprised about? I don't know what the hell
02:05you're talking about, Mike. You just said, well, is there going to be a deviation from
02:13the previous two years and what has happened? Uh, I don't think you'll be surprised. Like,
02:20Oh,
02:21he'd be an amazing lawyer.
02:23He Morris, your friend, like you can't just let him know if he's playing. You know, he's
02:27not playing. Just tell him. I'm like, I'm still like Mike. Also did two people leave
02:34in the middle of that clip. I felt like I heard the door slam twice. I left. I felt
02:40like there was a loud door close in the midst of that long pause. Do I expect from past
02:47scenarios that you're going to be surprised with a, as, as you'd put it, it would be a
02:56deviation from the last two years. Um, I don't think you're gonna be surprised.
03:11He's like, I can't take it. In his pause. You can hear someone cough. Yes. I felt like
03:18it. That's what they were doing to it. Please. Holy smoke. Yeah. I've seen that before. I've
03:28been on stage before and someone's like paying their bill and leaving. So just help me. We're
03:34going to call them out. I still got to come out in between. And it's like, sir, we still
03:42thought, Oh, are you leaving because you couldn't afford the bill? You're running up a high bill
03:50or we're not funny. We didn't call them out. It is so embarrassing to myself. I hate that. I
03:57hate when people laugh. All right. Everyone's so uptight in here. Here you are setting an
04:05environment up for success at a comedy club because people are going to a comedy club
04:11expecting to laugh. So the only way they won't laugh is if your jokes are just terrible because
04:17they're going in there with the attitude of laughing. It's not something where you just meet
04:22somebody on the street and you go, Oh, that guy's funny. No, they're going to a comedy club to
04:27laugh. So you've already gotten one up on them. Dennis says my head hit the table. My listen, I
04:36almost broke my neck because my head fell back out of just sheer exhaustion. What are we doing?
04:42Dennis also says, could you imagine him doing an audio book? It would take a year to finish.
04:47I mean, wherever you got to drive.
04:50And you say from your house in Georgia for him and you'd be your house to Washington.
04:55Yeah. Chapter two. That's not the whole book. We've been driving all night. No, we can see Mike
05:06wouldn't just read the story. He would try to explain the story and the plot while reading the
05:13book. Dolphin Kane says, blah, blah, blah. Hate McFraud. Jeez. It's like, no, look, strong word.
05:21You hate him.
05:23Here. One of the things that I like, I hate when people do it. You take a part of what somebody does
05:37and find reasons to not like them. Right. And, and I would say that Mike McDaniel is an excellent
05:46offensive coach. Right. We, we may still have questions about his decisions on how to go about
05:52things during the course of the game, but let's be clear. He's never been a head coach before. And
05:58like with all of us, if you call somewhere and somebody say I'm new here, they expect all of the
06:04damn patients in the world. So we've seen a lot of good things these first two years of Mike
06:12McDaniel. Let's be clear. We have. So I'm not going to just throw it away and say he can't get no
06:19better. And this is it. And he's a fraud. No, you've seen a lot of guys who you thought were
06:23trash have good years. So you got to at least give him that. Now the interviews, if you want to
06:31entertain or go to a movie, if you want a football coach, watch the football games. So I'm like,
06:37yeah. Like, why does he have to be all of this? You want him first and foremost to be a football
06:42coach, a good football coach. If he's accomplishing that, whether you like what he has to say or how
06:48he says it, that's a you problem. Josh says it honestly, at least he tries to put some effort
06:54into his answers. Sometimes he just tries too much. Yes. I, yes, yes. He wants to be unique guys.
07:02No, no, no. He don't have to want to. He is right. You ain't got to like,
07:08that's like Mike McDaniel being unique. It's like me trying to be black.
07:15Doing a good job, Leroy. Thank you. I appreciate it. Do I expect during the next scenarios
07:23that you're going to be surprised with a, as, as you'd put it, it would be a deviation from the
07:31last two years. Nobody put it that way. Mike, nobody put it in slight deviation. Nobody said
07:38that. You'd be surprised. Wow. That is an intense. That was like a radio person's worst nightmare
07:47though. Like every time you hear that pause, you start looking at everything. What's going on,
07:52what's going on. We we're familiar with his work. We just waited out, taking a deep breath.
07:57Scary dude. But yeah, like, like, Hey, some people like, that's what makes him unique. And
08:03listen, the funny thing about people is this, the same thing you loved about him
08:10and his creative talking in front of the media and how interesting he was next to all the other
08:17coaches you've had up to now for the last few years, you can't now have a problem with it.
08:24Woo. Right. You can't now all of a sudden say, Oh man, he talked to me because we were all excited
08:30when he was talking like that. When we came in, I like the silly stuff. He just uses a lot of
08:34words. He uses a lot of words. He used a lot of words. He's like, it's almost like his brain is
08:43doing something else other than his mouth. Right? Like he's trying to solve another problem while
08:49answering questions and his brain is not really paying attention, but his mouth is working fine.
08:56I will give him credit though. He is not made like a, or like misspoke
09:02or had to ever walk back any of his comments in the past, like two to three years.
09:06Yeah. Because he says everything to cover his bases for anything that he may get to take. He
09:12covers all his bases. One conversation. He doesn't have to walk back when he walks a marathon every
09:17single time. That's why he pauses. He thinks about every possible answer question.
09:25You know what? There are people that when you ask a question, they try to think of what your
09:31followup will be and then answer that in the original question. Yep. So you don't have to
09:36ask no more questions. However, it just takes five minutes to answer is two is going to play.
09:42I don't think you're going to be surprised. Would not be a deviation.
09:49I'm telling you, he is Dr. Strange with the time stone,
09:52just like going through every possible scenario.
10:01If I say he doesn't play, then the audience will think that. And it's just like, no,
10:04dude, just, we're just asking you a simple question. Is he going to play or not?
10:08I don't want them to think that I'm down into his confidence.
10:12Just respond normal. And that's how he answers. That's how he answers questions.
